Is the trajectory to L2 a bit complicated ?
I can see from the website that the distance to L2 has been actually be increasing over the past...
About 37 thousand miles to L2.
That is about the same as going around the equator and half the way around again.
They can almost see L2 now;)
95% distance covered now.
Slowing down ,about 600 mph (.1477 ms/s) now I think I calculated.
Think Lady Luck might have had a hand in it as well.
I see the cruising speed is unchanged from yesterday at 0.1517ml/s.
Thought it might be slowing down
I think "existing" may be a physical process that could in theory be measured in space and time (or whatever is fundamental at that level
Is it enough to just say that we have a set of "nows" in our sensory apparatus (including the brain) that exist as a models and not as absolute...
Is that analogous to the uncertainty principle where a moving object's position is unknowable?

Had a look at that site and came across your introductory post there.
The last post in that thread is hilarious...

"JWST: A very interesting update from Mike Menzel, NASA mission systems engineer: thanks to the accuracy...
Probably how they are going to orbit around L2
But only about half way there time wise.
I wonder why.Is there a long deceleration or does docking take a hell of a lot of maneuvering ?
Don't think they have planning permission yet.
Well ,it will be very reassuring when they have covered that last quarter and bivvied up for the night.
Both wings locked in place.
Think they adjust the 18 individual mirrors next(last steps before entering orbit at L2?)
Any update on how virulent Omicron is in the over 70 cohorts yet?
Why Saint not learn correct English when she talk it so much?
Another mouse sized step for the JWST
