Are Europeans Pedophiles?

  1. In Europe the legal age for sex is really low - like 14 in Germany, Portugal, Italy and Austria. In Spain its 13!!!1 This means a 40 year old man can legally have sex with a 14 year old as long as it is consensual (without coercion etc).

Does this mean the Europeans are pedophiles? Does it mean it's legal to be a pedophile in Europe?

No. They are just young, not pre-pubescent.

There are qualifiers to many of the age of consent laws. Generally, they make illegal exploitative situations wherein an older person takes sexual advantage of a younger person, for example by use of deception or coercion.

So, the short answer is: no, this doesn't mean pedophilia is legal in Europe.

Not more so than 1800s Americans, where the practical marrying age was the same. It is all about the definition...

Anyhow, OP is a trolling idiot....

  8. If you had followed your own link you would have known that although explicit examples of coercion are criminalized consensual sex between 14 year olds and adults (of any age) is certainly legal.

All civilized nations have a duty to protect European children from abuse. It's a fact that a 14 year old having sex with a 30 year old will cause severe trauma, even if the 30 year old is a sexy teacher and the 14 year old her male student.

Well minor age is a human idea, however, its a good one. Children are young, and plain not ready for the world of the post-sex perspective.

The OP could call Europeans teenager drunk, because the (oh the horror!!) legal drinking age is 18 and not 21. It is all about definition really...

By the way someone might want to check Romeo's and Julia's age. I think they were 14. Now when the OP learns that in certain Arab countries girls at age 12 or younger are married to older guys, he will have a heart attack...

Oh yes, the legal age of sex usually have a discrimination against older persons and means sex with close to same age people, just like in the USA. For example:

    Arkansas

The age of consent is 16, with some close in age exemptions.

Details: The age is minimum 16 for a minor (<18) with a major more than 20 years old. Under 18, the younger must not be less than 14, or if so, there is a defense if the minor is not more 4 years younger if above 12, not more 3 years younger if under 12. Sexual intercourse of a major and a minor under 14 is a rape.

P.S.: The age on consent almost all around the world is LESS than in the USA, so stop pushing your puritan views on the world.

Why so obsessed with Europe? At least in Europe the girl has to "consent". Which of course, it could be debated whether a young girl or boy could consent. In many parts of the middle east, and Africa, and central and south America, it doesn't even matter if the child is "consenting". Not to mention the fact that their parents marry them off without their "consent".

And lets not forget Japan... Just look at any anime, manga, Japanese porn where the girls are dressed and act as if they are extremely young.

The age of consent in Egypt is 18.

Does that make all Americans pedophiles, relatively speaking?

So, you get your facts from the current mores of your own culture. American, probably. American white middle-class people are legally children for far longer than people elsewhere in the world, and tend to (are encouraged to) remain immature for life. Confused as hell about sext, reproduction and love but unequivocal in their love of violence.
They are, as a nation, aggressive, callous, ignorant and greedy. They bomb villages, poison rivers, leave land-mines everywhere, export radioactive and toxic waste, impose vicious dictatorships and economic policies on poor countries, consume millions of tons of food taken from local populations and goods produced by child slaves.

Thus, uniquely qualified to protect the children of the world from their own sexuality.

    Doctorbeanjuice:

I did follow my own link. In fact, I found it in the first place and provided it for your viewing pleasure. Moreover, I did not make the claim that consensual sex is illegal between 14 year olds in any country where the age of consent is 14. That would be a dumb claim to make, wouldn't it?

So, I take it I said something you didn't understand too well. Maybe you ought to go back and review what I wrote.

Certainly, signatories to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child have undertaken to protect in various ways all children, European or otherwise, to the extent that they have jursdiction. As it happens, the United States and Somalia are the two nations who have not ratified the Convention. Hopefully, one day those two countries will become civilised too.

Where are you getting your facts?

Also, I have noticed that you're very interested in this topic. You have signed up to several forums to post a duplicate of your opening post here. May I ask what has sparked your sudden and admirable concern about the dangers of pedophilia?

There is a likelihood that the Original poster of this particular thread was actually more interested in generating a "flame ridden troll feast, likely directed as racism" rather than actually stating anything with any underlining point.

The topic of paedophilia is always one to insight disgust and cause people to point fingers and badmouth one another, even when no one being claimed to be guilty of it.

Each country has it's laws, laws that have evolved as there society has matured. Any pro's or con's of those social developments in relationship to one another is purely because each country has had it's own unique history not governed by some global mandate (Totalitarian regime)

So anybody further posting to this thread, please take into account that the topic picked is obviously to offend Europeans, to shock who ever is easily shocked and likely to generate discord on this sub-forum.

So what if both sex partners are under the age of consent and neither was forced into the act -- are there any legal implications? If so, what would those be?

Mod Hat — Closure and Redirect

    Mod Hat — The inevitable

I'm trying to figure out what purpose this discussion actually has; see also Stryder at #13 above.

In truth, I'm not finding much direct purpose, except perhaps to justify the idea of an American adult getting into a child's pants.

As such, we'll stick a fork in this one.
