I think that when the person is already 18, they should be put into the workplace. Most workplaces will force them to dress in more formal attire. It will also introduce them to some kind of social life that is outside their realm. THey eventually have to grow up and face the real world. The best way to is not to feed them their internet connection. I think they should pay for their room & internet connection to their parents. Eventually, they can be encouraged to go to college or take some kind fo education to get a job that will allow them to move out while living with some money to spend on liesure.
In my country, there aren't enough work places not even for the adults, much less for the unskilled and untrained youngsters.
That's too bad that you live in a country that is in that state fo joblessness. Where you live, maybe the young people can volounteer somewhere or take part of some type of recreational group. They could join a chess club or something.
That's the thing: having no choice but to devote yourself to things that won't pay you any money -- unless you have a talent for something, that sort of devotion is hard to accomplish. One may just as well give in to drugs and bad poetry. Solving the problem of "white angry boys" is far more complex than most would like.

These kids are spoiled brats from their birth. They are given what they want, when they want. They've never had to work at any time for any thing. They rarely have to do chores around the house to earn their allowance, they don't have to work when they could, for example delivering the paper or working in a burger joint to earn their money. They are bred lazy. The mentality of the 'white boy' is already in place before they turn 18. Instead of the parents just giving them everything, they should be made to work around the house for their allowance, forced to find a job when they are in their early teens to teach them some sort of work ethic, to teach them that life is not easy and that you have to work to get what you want. If they can't find work, then forcing them into volunteer programs to not only teach them a work ethic, but also to make them work for their allowance. Such actions should be taken well before the child turns 18. That would be a good start. We can blame the 'white boy' for being the way he is, but we should also blame the white boy's parents for bringing him up this way.

Cracker, you represent the people that we are ranting about. Is there a solution to your problem? I think that's what we are trying to find out. I could have easily fallen into the middle class void. My parents caught that early. Now, I am aiming for a scholarship on hockey. I work at the local library for all my luxuries. I am going to go to University to become a high school teacher...
