Many, I know, but one of the most perfect that fits the moment, is the end scene of 'Fight Club', when Ed Norton is watching the buildings blow up, with a hole in his head and Pixies 'where is my mind' comes on. swwweeettt
The theme from Requiem for a Dream was great. I’m not sure but I do think it was composed for the movie. Does that count?
I don't know if alot of people might find it right but i would say during the last boost by Nicholas Cage in "Gone in 60 Seconds" 'The Last Car Theme' by Trevor Rabin. Man that was sweeeeeeeeeet
The Rage song in the riot scene in Natural Born Killers. "The Man in Me" throughout The Big Lebowski. Any of that goofy '80s pop shit in Scarface.
Carmina Burana in Excalibur when the knights ride forth to war. Merlin brandishing his staff and pointing the way. Also in Excalibur, the "la la la la la" song in the fair while Arthur is running about looking for Kay's sword. Hey Man, Nice Shot in the Cable Guy during the basketball game.
"Talkshow Host" and "Exit Music For A Film" by Radiohead for "Romeo and Juliet" "Sing" by Blur for "Traninspotting" "The Shape of my Heart" by Sting for "The Professional"
"Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" by Nancy Sinatra in Kill Bill. "Where is my mind" rocks. Pixies rock.
Also, "Rags to Riches" by Tony Bennett in Goodfellas, and pretty much all the classical music, but especially, "The William Tell Overture" in A Clockwork Orange.
The Leonard Cohen stuff from Natural Born Killers... Even though it's just over the ending credits, I always liked "Paint It Black" at the end of Full Metal Jacket. Kubrick's films always had great musical accompaniment -- tracks that took on a new life when inserted into new contexts (e.g., "We'll Meet Again" in Dr. Strangelove and the aforementioned Clockwork Orange selections). The Shostokovich waltz at the beginning of Eyes Wide Shut, also the "Backward Priests" bit during the orgy are quite appropos. Josh
Agreed. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I'm thinking, in the hypothetical Vin Diesel movie, they would probably have some lame modern band cover it (cheaper, ya know). Though I'm sure a Nickelback version would be breathtaking... (sarcasm) :bugeye: Josh
The piano solo portion of "Layla" during the murder montage scene in Goodfellas. "Sympathy For The Devil" at the end of Interview With A Vampire The Tom Wier piece at the end of Swimming With Sharks The "love theme" from Young Frankenstein (French horn ... cool)
Does anybody know whether Iron Maiden's "Where Eagles Dare" is from the Richard Burton/Clint Eastwood movie? Or was it inspired by the movie?
