We hear from time to time news of dissension and strife between the international community and Iran About its nuclear program which it says is for peaceful purposes, while the U.S. says And other countries that aims to make nuclear weapons. It is for this nuclear America and the world surrounding Iran, for which America occupied Iraq and why Also caught North Korea and why many of the problems occur in different Around the world between now and then. Why all this uproar about nuclear weapons? Let's look at this issue on the nuclear bomb in short, simply:

We all know the ordinary bombs, they are substances that react chemically with each other in a certain way to cause an explosion resulting in destruction affects a specific region to harm and kill the people who live there, destroy the buildings as well as any Oomncat located in the impact of the blast by the type and size of the bomb. However, the situation is very different in the case of nuclear bombs. Why?

What is the difference between a nuclear bomb and the bomb regular?

Will answer this question by information: Imagine that a nuclear bomb shells and one mega-tons, sufficient to erase the largest city in the present age from the face of the earth?!

We will talk about the meaning of the bomb after a few rounds, but now we are talking about the reason for this horrible destruction:
Although the energy and force of the bomb lies in the regular force of the explosion, but the situation is very different in the case of a nuclear bomb because the force of the explosion are only 50% of the atomic bomb and its impact, while the rest of the impact is distributed in the form of heat waves are enormous and deadly radiation and electromagnetic pulse enormous .

We're going for every point quickly, and to begin PAL 50% of the impact of the first nuclear bomb, namely:

    Blast:

While exploding a nuclear bomb cause in the formation of massive pressure wave to destroy all that stands in their way. And move this wave quickly than the speed of sound in the explosion and the velocity below what we moved away from the blast area.
The question is: What do you do the pressure wave that?

If we take an example of a small caliber bomb 20 kilotons (ie the force of the explosion is equal to 20,000 kilograms of explosive material of the TNT used in the ordinary bombs!) To see what he will do the explosion caused by this little bomb: the human

    - At a distance of one kilometer area will be formed tremendous pressure in all directions around the point of explosion, would shed great pressure on all tissues of the human body, causing severe lacerations lead to the separation of muscles and bones of the body, as well as being members of which contain gas Kalrip and intestines and the middle ear to pressure leading to explosion.

    - 1.5 km away in confusion happens in all organs of the body with severe bleeding from the nose and ears, fractures and severe pain in the limbs.
    - At a distance of 2 km from the explosion will happen in the confusion of all organic device and loss of consciousness accompanied by severe headache and loss of ability to hear with bleeding from the nose and ear pain and fractures in the joints with the possibility of not being able to speak and sputum mixed with blood.

This is the effect of a small bomb shells, 20 thousand tons, let alone a bomb shells 50 million tons?

If you thought I was joking this figure, they saw this video for a real experience of the year 1961 to the Russian Tsar bomb caliber up to 57 million tons!!!:
Guenbeltna size are you feeling now that we have seen small impact compared to the existing bomb?

It remains to add that information fast to the above:

    - The magnitude of the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, between 13 and 18 kilo tonnes. Small is not it?

Caused the explosion of the bomb in the killing of about 140,000 people a moment to explode!!!!

Imagine now that you saw the enormous impact of this terrible destruction and this is only 50% of the impact of the bomb?!!!
Where goes the rest of the 50%?
The rest goes in the form of heat radiation (35%) and radioactive contamination (15%):

    Thermal radiation:
This causes massive explosion in the formation of a huge fireball temperatures inside for 300,000 degrees Celsius! The ball of flame that are even brighter than the sun in the sunny climate.
Move the heat in the form of terrible heat radiation affects all of the exposed burns differently, depending on distance from the bomb, and take Guenbeltna small (20 kt) as an example:
    - At a distance of 1.5 km of these rays cause burns of the fourth degree (worst degrees of burns) and caused the death of many of the injured.
    - At a distance of 2.5 km to cause third-degree burns, resulting in the burns, sores and cause damage to the skin cells under the skin.
    - At a distance of 3.5 kilometers to cause third-degree burns, which decrepitate skin.
    - Finally, at a distance of 4.5 km of first-degree burns, causing redness and swelling of the skin.
And do not forget also that we are talking about a relatively small bomb!!
    Nuclear radiation:
Cause a nuclear explosion next to each of the above in the barrage of invisible gamma rays and neutrons during the early parts of the first seconds after the explosion. And cause human exposure to these rays in the incidence of radiation poisoning may lead to death by the dose to a person.

Need this point to the subject alone to talk about the impact of radioactive contamination is caused by the ongoing nuclear bomb, which does not stop its influence in the explosion, but also move with the wind and the clouds to areas further, but here we refer to this package.
And the impact of nuclear radiation conclude this overview of this rapidly that we wanted through to get closer to a nuclear bomb to know of any rights against the folly committed by the same!!
I leave you now with another group of images, and begin to bomb Nagasaki, which caused (with the Hiroshima bomb) in the killing of more than a quarter of a million people:

Dude, you do realize this is a science forum. We already know all about the nuclear bombs. You dont have to explain it to us...

A one-megaton nuclear bomb is not even close to "sufficient to erase the largest city in the present age from the face of the earth." A one megaton bomb will destroy or seriously damage most structures within an area of about 80 square miles. New York City's metropolitan area (which is actually pretty far down the list of the world's cities by size) covers over 6000 square miles; if you wanted to fit the whole city in square, it would be about 80 miles/side. It would take dozens of one-megaton bombs to destroy most of a major city.

Nuclear weapons are certainly very powerful, especially compared to conventional weapons, but most people have a very badly over-exaggerated sense of how destructive they are. For instance, most people are very surprised to hear that about 10% of the people at Hiroshima who were within 2000 feet of the bast survived.

We still don't need any more countries with nuclear weapons. Research thorium reactors and give them to the world; there's zero proliferation risk.

New York is in the high 700s in square kilometers. One can include just about anything these days in metropolitan cities, but 6000 square miles is just too much for NYC.

visualizing all the microhappenings in my mind's eye:
    GOD---DAMN!!!
    :xctd:
what a description!! google translate didn't do the best job that can be done but enough got through..
it was always a matter of wonder to me how being slapped by a shock wave can do anything to you other than maybe flatten your nose..but this is just awesome, i mean
    DAMN!!
    then the cooking part:
i mean imagine walking in the street..suddenly you feel red hot and your skin swells and bubbles, and THEN...you hear the BOOM... a bomb has fell four and a half kilometers away from you.:shh:

this definitely gives scenes of people flying off explosion shock waves in slow motion a new taste..

    .

it is not new that we know, but we don't have nuclear stuff, and that's better, just small nuclear power stations,
that's all, nuclear power is not new, we know it since hiroshima, and nakasaki, also the atomic bomb,
    but we don't have them,
    and i think it's better

    yeah, it's very dangerous,
it's kinda terrifying, that you walk in the street, suddenly, you start bleeding, and fealing hot,
why is distruction so easier than building and fixing
    damn

oh, about the traslation, i used google, i think it juts maked a good job, at least it can be understood,

well first off, that is debateable, if you ask me it is kind of suspicious why the middle east needs reactors when it has the biggest production of oil inside the country, just build an oil power plant if you ask me.

    .

not all the arab contries have oil, also, oil pollutes alot, also, nuclear if it was an accident, we don't have big reactos,
for example here in tunisia, we don't have oil, but we have future plans, with the other maghreb contries, to use the desert for the solar power, that can power the maghreb, also europe,

Shadow, even if your country doesnt produce oil, making an oil power plant is infinitely cheaper in the short and long run than a nuclear power plant.

    .

so, you're pointing, to, making nuclear weapons and other war stuff, ?
now you started to make me srace of you, why do you think that it's all about war and stuff?

Because it is all about war, that is the sad, sad, sad fact of modern society. If you have a nuke nobody will ever mess with you, and the fact is that the west's existance compromises the brutal dictatorships of some of these countries. Im not saying all countries, that would be arrogant and shallow, but there are countries that dont hesitate to use weapons of mass destruction.

    yeah, it is sad,
but as far as i know, Tunisia, almost don't have an army,

what makes the maghreb safe, is our unity,
if anycontry attacked any of the maghrbe contries, all the five contries well get in,
