View Full Version : terrorist solutions....?
ripleofdeath 09-15-01, 07:46 PM hey all
Kmguru
i think the approach to the issue needs to be applied as a fluid
Investigation with resources to facilitate digressions of any nature.
I FEAR THERE IS ONE MAIN PROBLEM
as with all noxious plants or animals it seems the big effort only lasts enough to remove it from view rather than fix the problem for good.
and the general public does not have the stomach for such
required action.
WHEN A DOCTRINE OF MORAL/SOCIATAL FOUNDATION IS PURELY
SET TO AN UNCOMPRIMISING OPERSITE TO SUCH WHICH IS PERCIVED TO BE FAIR AND JUST THEN ONLY INAHALIATION CAN PROVE THE BALANCE TO THOSE WITH POWER TO MOULD THE FUTURE.
The real sting of the bandage required is that people must change the way they do things and the way they think.
GOVERMENT sponsored security devices at all public transport
Stations and access points.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.... oh how it echoes through every corner of national/domestic/global security.
EYES WILL BE WATCHING
Judging
Counting
Measuring
.... defining
How does one inahalate them, though?
And as for eyes watching, counting, measuring and defining: I think that's what stings the most. Our enemy's eyes have already been doing this. They got the jump on us. And we don't even really know who they are.
ripleofdeath 09-18-01, 06:27 AM ooooooooppppsss
i fear i have confused the issue.
the required response is a change in method not of greater measure of conflict and oppression.
Rather of global consideration ecological balance mixed with a supportive role by the big players rather than a controlling
domineering theme.
As much as U.S.A people feel they require a great deal of blood to be drawn in response the issue is far more in-depth than just killing a few thousand people and bombing a few tent villages.
THE key issue as it would seem is to manage di-cent of the poor underprivileged as it has always been.
unfortunately this has transpired as some strange form of communist rule balanced by a dictatorship ideal creating
a nice flat lawn out of a hilly forest of native trees.
and now that the pollution of the picket fence has poisoned the neighbors veggie garden they are upset when the hedge is OVER trimmed!
HAS ANYONE SUGGESTED TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR GOOD?
if only they could try to manage the issue rather than stand there challenging the people who might just be stupid enough to
make thier stain on the corner post.
makin...? breakin...? or just making bacon...?
its all the same when you use a plane!
The nature of the justice sought will burn its mark in history
to tell a story not seen by the swordsman of today,
and un-dreamt-of by the pirates of yesterday.
peace to all :)
You said it, rippleofdeath
HAS ANYONE SUGGESTED TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR GOOD?
There lies the problem. Military does not solve the problem, society does. Do you know, that the enemy can speak our language but we can not speak theirs? - atleast people in FBI, CIA, NSA?
Do you know, we spend $20 Billion a year to gather information from these hot spots and no one really knows what we do with the money? Who watches the wachers?
Internally, when we have problems, we move the problem to a jail (1% of the population is in jail). You can not do the same and put the whole world inside a jail - but you try....
The enemy warned us on "60 minutes" just two months ago. Did we pay any attention?
To be fair, fixing the problem for good requires intelligence. How many politicians you know that are intelligent? They cant even keep thier affairs with female interns secret. And when the media broadcasts the immorality of these politicians - it does not help. The Moslems think they are doing a favor by assulting the immoral way of life of the west.
Captain Canada 09-18-01, 10:07 AM If the US chooses to target their attacks/efforts specifically at those responsible for the attack, then they will receive near universal international support (even from Iran which has asked Canada to pass on a message to that effect). The US could then take the opportunity to attempt a global crackdown on terrorism through the UN so that all countries can have their say on just what a terrorist is. The US can then use the situation to put pressure on both Israel and the Palestinians (but especially Israel) to end their conflict in a just way that gives the Palestinians a genuine sovereign and contiguous state.
This could ultimately make the world a better place than it was before the WTC attack - an outcome I think all would agree is the best we can hope for. A safer, just and more peaceful world.
If the US chooses to go it alone and define and attack 'terrorists' under its own criteria, do nothing to help the Israelis and Palestinians achieve peace and flatten the Taliban, they may get Bin Laden, but will the world be safer? I would say not.
I agree with most of you, the US needs to attack the causes of the attack on WTC as well as the perpetrators. That will not happen with a broad attack. I hope that the legacy of WTC is one of peace rather than more bloodshed.
This could ultimately make the world a better place than it was before the WTC attack - an outcome I think all would agree is the best we can hope for. A safer, just and more peaceful world.
We know that, the government knows that, Colin Powell knows that. Human nature as is, people hide behind their safety and shout "Kill, Kill, Kill". Even a mullah in Afganistan did the same yesterday which was refuted by the official declaration.
We can have peace and punish the guilty. We get our justice, and they get matyrs. Everybody will be happy. That is the right thing to do.
Whther that is what will happen, who knows. The EVIL is very powerful. Between Hawks and Doves, everybody will lose....
Quote:
"Has anyone suggested trying to fix the problem for good?"
As long as there are two individuals standing on this planet there will be differences of opinion and belief. There is no fix for this problem. Revenge is a part of human nature. As someone who thought she was quite the peace loving person, this attack has stirred up emotions I didn't know I had. It seems that everyone has buttons that can be pushed at any time. It appears that Bin Laden was seeking revenge on Americans under the umbrella of religion, that to me, makes this act 100 times worse.
I don't know what the repercussions will be from the terrorist attack, but I'm pretty sure no one will agree on whatever is decided.
No one has been able to fix the drug problem, what leads you to think that the terrorist problem can be fixed? History has taken a new path and where it leads I don't think anyone can predict.
This topic is still so fresh in my mind that I know I'm probably not thinking straight. At this moment I'm glad I'm not running the show. President Bush has quite a burden to bear. I wish him the best.
It appears that Bin Laden was seeking revenge on Americans under the umbrella of religion, that to me, makes this act 100 times worse.
He says...it is justice...for sending 40 cruise missiles and destroying their way of life...
Anyway, watch the "60 minutes" again, you will know the enemy view point. Too bad, we did not listen.
ETERNAL VIGILANCE IS THE PRICE OF LIBERTY...now we are about to lose it...
I don't think we get the same 60 minute programs, so I did not see that particular segment. Our 60 MInutes over here usually has a transcript posted on the net after the show. If you have that over there, I would appreciate it if you you post it to me so I can have a broader view.
Thanks.
Teri.
Sorry Teri, it looks like one has to buy the transcripts from CBS - that is our capitalistic way. Greed never amazes me. Here is a few words on CBS site (60 minutes II)
Prophecies of Terror: Last week's attack on America came as a shock to most people. But people within Osama Bin Laden's inner circle. When they spoke with our team from 60 Minutes II several weeks ago, these members of that inner circle offered what we now realize were prophecies of terror - predictions that America and its interests were in grave danger... not specifically from bin Laden, but certainly from many who share his hatred of America. Correspondent Dan Rather reports. The second part of this report will air Wednesday night on 60 Minutes II.
And, Dan Rather sobbed in David Letterman show last night. I do not understand when CBS people were talking to the enemies, they did not pass the information to our government. Any idiot can see what the enemy says and take it seriously. I think, CBS could have prevented this tragedy.
<i>"We can have peace and punish the guilty. We get our justice, and they get matyrs. Everybody will be happy. That is the right thing to do."</i>
That's gonna be a classic.

Thank you Bowser.
You can add "- KMGuru" to the line, you know. :D :D
thecurly1 09-18-01, 08:22 PM Did it occur that Bin Ladnen's threat is like the Boy Who Cried Wolf?
Obviously their going to make a threat against America, terrorists, if you can call them that (I prefere thugs), incite terror and fear. Any time they get huge media coverage, especially American, they are going to threaten us.
Not every threat could have been taken to litterate meaning, so we aren't really to blame for this tragedy.
Lets remember the number one issue: 6,000 Americans are dead, because of these bastards. They deserve the blame, almost exclusivley. No one in this country would have PURPOSELY allowed 6,000 innocent people to die.
Let us remember the 6000 dead.
Let us also not forget that if we do not prepare ourselves, with a bio-agent, in 3 months, 3 million will get sick and 1 million will be dead. This bio-agent spreads by a factor of 10 in every 2 to 3 weeks.
Let us keep it in perspective.
What bio-agent is that, kmguru?
ripleofdeath 09-19-01, 01:59 AM hey all :)
Afghanistan refugees land on Nauru (near Australia)
how many bin larden trainers are among them?
a new terrorist camp/refugee camp..........???
Its just a nervous thought more than a real belief.
Another thought...
We don’t want more martyrs!!!
We should take whatever steps necessary to highlight these terrorists as mentally ill extremist anti social creed worshipping
Psychotic freaks...!!!
As i believe they must be to carry out such an act!
NOTE: the sickness has already spread to the confiscation of
swiss army knifes from passengers.
now i have to ask DID THE AIRLINE company give adequate warning for the passengers to place such tools into thier main luggage?
A knife can be fashioned from soo many parts of soo many things
WHATS next? Compulsory handcuffs for all passengers?
NOW THINK OF THIS!
If all the passengers had knifes.....
Would the hijackers have been successful?
It may sound a bit weird but the chance would have been there for some one to bring them down...
Unfortunately it is a difficult choice to endanger the life of one hostage to try to save the others.
MAYBE ITS TIME THE PILOTS WERE LOCKED IN A COMPARTMENT
WHICH IS UN ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM INSIDE THE PASSENGER
COMPARTMENT???
WELL I GUESS ITS ONLY A QUESTION OF MONEY.
and life is cheap in this day and age.
groove on all :)
In stead of removing one inch knives and toe clippers and ball pens, we need to arm the passengers with large knives and swords!
Looks like Sikhs will not be travelling on the planes anymore (they carry a small knife as a religious symbol)
ripleofdeath 09-19-01, 03:46 PM seconded!!!!!
:)
Actually, I think letting ALL of the passengers be armed with edged or blunt weapons is one the best ideas I've heard. Instead of acting like we're scared of a fight, we stand ready. We'd probably get a lot more of them that way, too. I really, really like it. Bravo!! Beutifully unconventional. Now, how do we get it passed?
But, I'm goin' with the small knife, personally. I think it would the most effective in such close quarters. But that's just my opinion.
There is another idea:
Make it a compulsory for every adult to carry a cattle prod (given by airlines) so that we take out the hostiles without damaging the plane. Have the pilots release sleep gas to knockout the passengers too while landing safely.
Sweeeeeet. Get to live, get the bad guys AND get a buzz. Let's get BOTH passed. We have to be able to hold them off long enough to pass out, after all.
Athough, I guess gas could put very small children and some elders in danger.
It is better than getting shot down by the airforce - then all die
I can easily design a gadget (already patented by a third party) that shoots high voltage 10 feet away without wire that can knock down a horse.
We need several items, zappers, rubber bullets, sky marshals, pilot armed, swords, foam sprays, glue sprays, and so on. They are inexpensive and will work very well.
I like.
But, I don't understand how you make sure a ten foot arc would hit the right target? And wouldn't that take an incredible amount of voltage to send an arc ten feet? That might be dangerous to the plane if unleashed. If it works, it works, though.
It goes in a straight line and rides on two laser beams the same size as pencil laser light but with more wattage. Therefore you aim to the spot with high precision. The voltage will be high but the current will be low to knock out somebody but not kill one. So if a passenger somehow came in front in a struggle, that passenger will just lose muscular control.
There are other gadgets that can be done do disorient a person as in riot control too.
I never thought of having it ride a laser. Obviously.
Can it fire more than once? Take long build a charge, if so?
ripleofdeath 09-20-01, 02:14 AM great points!!!
its going to solve the problem so its most likely it will never be.
:(
The charge depends on the size of the capacitor. It is just like the electronic flash in a camera. The bigger ones have more power and cycle much faster. You can have a dual system with five discharge each (Now, you can patent this idea!) that is straped to your wrist. If you carry a 24 volt Nickel Metal Hydride battery pack on your waist, and use a separate hair dryer size gun, you can shoot 500 discharges before you need battery charged.
At the hair dryer size, you can set to kill if you want.
This morning I read that, the Afghanis want Osama to go away. If we can close down this Osama, and make sure no more Osamas sprout up, we got it made.
Then we could make a memorial honoring the 6000 that contributed to the world peace.
