    I wouldn't consider myself a poet. I merely rhyme.

    Horse Latitudes

When the still sea conspires an armor
    And her sullen and aborted
    Currents breed tiny monsters
    True sailing is dead
    Awkward instant
And the first animal is jettisoned
    Legs furiously pumping
    Their stiff green gallop
    And heads bob up
    Poise
    Delicate
    Pause
    Consent
    In mute nostril agony
    Carefully refined
    And sealed over

    From the American Heritage Dictionary:
    • Poem: A verbal composition designed to convey experiences, ideas, or emotions in a vivid and imaginative way, characterized by the use of language chosen for its sound and suggestive power and by the use of literary techniques such as meter, metaphor, and rhyme.

    The Lamb

    If love were a battlefield
I would slay myself upon it
To die, in your arms, a slave.

The ground, it would enfold me
With my sword, run straight through
My blood, a sacrifice, to your obsession.

Even in death, my soul would meet
    No terrible fate greater,
Then to not have been consumed.

    Love, a treacherous master;
    I would willingly submit,
If you but yielded the whip.

The Balance by The Moody Blues

    After he had journeyed,
    And his feet were sore,
    And he was tired,
He came upon an orange grove
    And he rested
And he lay in the cool,
And while he rested, he took to himself an orange and tasted it,
    And it was good.
And he felt the earth to his spine,
And he asked, and he saw the tree above him, and the stars,
And the veins in the leaf,
And the light, and the balance.
    And he saw magnificent perfection,
Whereon he thought of himself in balance,
    And he knew he was.

    Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it's always been.
    Just open your mind
    And you will find
    The way it's always been.
    Just open your heart
    And that's a start.

And he thought of those he angered,
For he was not a violent man,
And he thought of those he hurt
For he was not a cruel man
And he thought of those he frightened
For he was not an evil man,
    And he understood.
    He understood himself.

Upon this he saw that when he was of anger or knew hurt or felt fear,
It was because he was not understanding,
    And he learned, compassion.

And with his eye of compassion.
He saw his enemies like unto himself,
    And he learned love.
    Then, he was answered.

    Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it's always been.
    Just open your mind
    And you will find
    The way it's always been.
    Just open your heart
    And that's a start.

    Little lady on the wall
what's the reason for your fall
won't your father lend a hand
he was raised a Christian man.
He found out that she got stoned
kicked her out of his strict home
she learned how to live alone
on the street is where she roamed.
On the corner begged for cash
used the money to buy hash
even found a place to crash
all it cost was half her stash.
She got bored with sticky nuggs
    experimented with hard drugs
    addiction hit her really bad
sold her body all she had.
So now she stands upon the wall
a mute reminder to us all
be mindful of the path you choose
but in the end it's up to you.

    Tree

    by **K

    Petals of pink roses
    caresses the gnarled skin.
    As the wind blows
all shakes and shudders from within.
Circles and swirls of yellow and gold reaches up to the sky.
    Tracing each wrinkle and fold,
    wringing the hands of time.
Black in the depth of the eyes,
    caught in loveliness and surprise.
She dances without whimper or sigh,
covering the ground in snow and ice.
Sudden shots of green splay the white ground
while the sweet earth spices the air.
Budding spears of merlot red and honey brown
occupy each arm with great flare.
    He witnesses each passing year,
    so tall and majestic.
With knowledge so simple and clear,
he turns to the red rolling sunset.

    The Pessimists Prayer

    say itll never happen
You say at least I tried
    Yet the pessimist prayed
    And the optimist cried.
    I Say I dont matter
    You say I will
    I want to give up
    And youre hoping still
    My eyes grow dark
    And your eyes shine bright
    I say its unfair
    You say itll turn right
    I try to understand
How you keep your hopes high
    You do what you do
    Without a reason why
    You look through my soul
    You say you see grief
I say I cant help it
    Its not your belief
    And when the world ends
Just like I knew it would
    You ask yourself why
    You never thought it could
    And I say its okay
But for once you give up
    So is it a full
    Or a half empty cup
    Time goes by
    And you dont understand
    How your prayers
Couldnt stop life from its end
    So I try to hope
    But you wont even try
    A pessimists prayer and
    An optimists cry

    Lamenting the loss

I live in dark fear, fear of my dark thought
For now I’m alone I fear I have been caught
By the specter of death that I have not sought.

Now I’m so old and way past my peak
Without my beloved I’m so tired and weak
A pitiful old soul with no one to speak.

Torn with loneliness I turn inward with fear
Life became meaningless that much is clear
My life is empty from the loss of my love so dear.

The old memories return of the times we would play
Our laughing and our hugging and our rolls in the hay
My heart is now aching too broken to say.

More than a spouse my only love and best friend
My soul mate and partner, all my love I do truly send
The only one I ever wanted to the very end.

With my sorrow so great as anyone can see
Longing for that touch I fell to one knee
I cried out, please my love come back for me!

With my last dying breath I made my last stand
For now I am happy, and things are so grand
For my beloved has come for me and has taken my hand.

    Metamorphosis
    Pondering its past insectuality,
    The butterfly, now emerged fully
From its chrysalis, spreading its wings
It takes to the air with impunity.
Oh what an occasion it is.
As she shows off to all below her
Her grace, beauty and her most gloriously
    New found ‘Light body’.
    Oh my sweet, sweet beauty.
    Fly,
    Fly high
    Fly high into the sky.
    Forget not us mere creatures
That are bound here to earth.
    Mother loves us all, though
    You most of all.
    Thank Her
    With love and humility,
For there are many of us in waiting
For that metamorphosis to call us home.

Moving though life thinking two steps ahead
Never brings happiness but sorrow instead.

Leaving the moment for some answer or clue
Opens the door for things that are untrue.

Stay centered in the now, leave the abstract
Keeping your mind sane and intact.

    My love

As I lift my eyes and gaze upon your brilliance
Your splendor rises up and greets me.
Oh yes my dearest ‘tis me who smiles with love
    In your presence
For you are my heart…my essence…my life.
    Your gentle caresses
    And
    Sweet kisses
Sing me songs of your love
    That no words could compare.
Come my love and take my hand
For together we walk as one.
    I love you so.

    When It All Falls Down
    .
Each and every time the world will realine
    and we will fade away.
Not some master plain, when will you understand
    that it will fade away?
But they thought it was a shame so we reached inside our minds.
Yet it didn't ease the pain, what is it you must find.
And we always knew the world would someday end now here we are.
    .
I know that I can never be the man that they had hoped I'd be.
    Did I let them down?
    Had to stand my ground.
And all those things you thought would last we give them all back to the past because,
    it'll fade away.
    (Guitar Solo)
You want it, they got it!
In a world where we're all forgotten.
You see it all before your eyes, what do you recognize?
When you see it, believe it!
Just a matter of time before we all need it.
And when it all falls down, that's when ... we'll fade away--
It will all just fade away--
We will all just fade away.

    Balance

Standing alone upon a darkened shore
Pondering existence, searching for that glimmer,
A vision came forth from the waters deep shimmer.
A jewel it seemed never imagined before
Emerging with such beauty that no power could ignore
An arousal occurred bringing desire to a simmer.
With all past thoughts fading much dimmer
I entered within and pondered no more.
Our desire for each was so complete
We passionately joined and began to spin
I within Her, She within me.
Forged by lust and orgasmic heat
The Lady Feminine and I Lord Masculine
Parented this universe and all things to be.

    Fucking Jealousy

I hate the way he loves you
I hate that he loves me
I hate, even more, that he loves you better
I hate that he’s too blind to see

    I hate that you exist
I hate your stupid goddamn voice
I hate the way you call in the morning at 6 AM!!
Even worse…I hate that you’re his choice

I hate the way you laugh
I hate you through and through
I hate the way he smiles like a love-sick fool
    Whenever he talks of you

I hate that I was his
    Before you came back
I hate that you are special (more then me)
    No matter what you lack

    I really fucking hate you
I wish that you would die
I hate the way you make him laugh
And I fucking hate that you make me cry

I wish you would get kidnapped by aliens
I wish I could plot your demise
I wish that you were smarter
So you could see through his lies

I hate that when you call
I am always in his arms
I hate the way he answers the phone
I hate that you fall for his charms

I hate the way he says your name
I hate that he whispers mine
I hate that he loves my body
I hate that he loves your mind

I hate you for all you are
I hate your stupid fucking face
I hate that he tells you he loves you
And then fucks me in your place

I hate that you don’t know
The truth about he and I
And I hate that you will be there
On the day I say goodbye

Even more, I hate your presence
Like a shadow on the wall
I hate that you remind me
Of how far I have to fall

I hate the way I love him
I hate, even more, that I hate you
I hate that you will take my place
No fucking matter what I do

And yet I have to wonder
When you go back to your life
Am I still going to be the one in his bed?
And will he make you his wife?

    God, I fucking hate you!
Why won’t you just go away?
Even more, I hate that it’s not your fault
And yet I hate you anyway!

    Life in a glass body

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words shall never hurt me,
    shattered into a million peices,
    me and my glass body,

I lay there on the ground,
    so lifeless in appearance,
for my eyes are now glassed over,
my spark has made it's disapearance,

Made of sand and extreme heat,
    nothing extraordinary,
so when the day comes that my last piece breaks,
    i'll be treated ordinary,

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones,
it's an easy metaphor to see,
but what is the rule for people,
who live in a glass body?

The Last Refrain of Mary Jane.

The Last Refrain of Mary Jane.

Mary Jane comes to take my pain, it’s her green soul
I reach to hold; she takes me in her herbal folds and
swirls me in my heated mold.

In Ganja’s grip I taste her lips, and watch my whirling
ego trips pass to a silken passing mist.

What pain? I ask, my rage is vast! But she whispers low:
‘This too shall pass!’ And all I hold will be retold, forgotten,
    marked and then resold.
She strokes my lips I taste her kief and into lost long dreams
I slip. This pain filled land and cruel head-trip! Into warm drowsy
waters will slip, and on her sea I’ll sail my ship.

Mary Jane my last refrain, you’ll one day turn my brain insane,
but your THC is dear to me, you change the way my eyes do see.
My one last hope, my sweet escape, green goddess who controls
my fate, hold me again and make me safe.

The Aerialist and the Razor Bird

The Aerialist and the Razor Bird

The hate is like an ache and long stalled dreams
of blood remade, matter reformed into a base
mockery, in my imagination I exalt in my revenge.
What is this thing called man, his law his rules?
What if I were beyond, rules, laws and conventions
in the node of none such I’ll make my home.

‘What if? What if but? And what about the rest of us?’

And who are you? But the gravity holding me down, pressing
me down I’ll not be one of the rest! I am the gravity defying
aerialist who walks the silken rope and treads forbidden
    ground of a world remade.

And if I fall I least I’ll know I’ve lived at least for as long as
it takes me to hit the ground.
And what of my revenge? It’s in living and knowing, and when
the ground consumes me all these worthless words will be my
last remaining vanity and revenge will mean nothing.

So why do I plot and scheme and pay the game, games are for
children, and suffering the only pay, I am the razor bird remade
I cut wounds to heal the truth that hurts more then even I can
    say.

    Role Back (Verse three)
    .
They want to go back to the time when your work was worth a dime.
Role back to the days when the workers had no say.
They wish to take it (clap) all back due to the projected profits they lack.
Are you going to sit back or give them hell (Give them Hell).
    .
To all the millions who've lost their jobs due to corporate greed and investment snobs.
You should ask yourself one question ... Why?
Now the answer should come as no surprise it's how capitalists view most every enterprise.
To them profits are not as important as growth.
If their quarterly earnings drop below some graph then the investors say 'it's time to cut back'.
It really doesn't matter if their still in the black even so.
The plan's to exceed that projected line in the hopes that a bubble will form over time
and when the moments just right well, ... that's when they sell.
It's boom and bust as the saying goes. Orchestrated with care so that nobody knows
that they're the reason you lost your home.
So I say take to the streets all those who dare, we'll burn down their buildings, we'll make them care.
Hell they walked away as millionires at our expence.
They've done it before and they'll do it again. They're after your money are you listenin' friend.
They don't care about you as long as they get ahead which is why--

    Role Back (verse one)
    .
There was a time in this country when we had two castes but let me tell you about the rise of our middle class. We had the rich and the poor until a man named Ford came along.
The plan he conceived wasn't all that bad but boy would it make those fat cats mad. He would pay his emplyees a whopping five bucks a day.
He reasoned 'by offering such a massive wage' that his assembly line workers could afford what they made. He had no idea of the road he just paved pardon the pun.
And he still made a profit how could it be? The wheels started turning everbody could see that these working class men had their own Model T's how nice.
Soon a chorus rang out across this great land demanding a living wage for the working man. I'll tell ya they really knew how to make a stand back then.
Now the wealthy had never dealt with this before. A National uprising, the peasants want more. It got pretty ugly it was all out war and how.
Disobedience is how they got their way now we have safer conditions and a higher pay. This act is remembered to this very day which is why--
