    One for the diehards

I thought I'd better make one up also.
See if you can see thru this...

My usual contents consist of french love.
But can be of some other things.
I'm really quite small you can tell by my name,
Which is mentioned in Lord of the Rings

    What am I?

Is is because the year is 44bc (and so would have at least face value)

nearly there esp the question arises, how would the mint know it was 44BC?

The other riddle is nothing to do with hobbits etc

    a french heart (Coeur?)

    jealousy comes to mind

    well... it's a short word

the only thing leaping to mind is "My Precious"

Am I anywhere near the right track?

    How about an easier one:
What is it that you throw away the outside, cook the inside, eat the outside, and throw away the inside?

    Ring? :bugeye:

Kiss comes to mind also, because of the french love. Not quite sure what you mean by this French Love, though...

OK I see this is a little too hard for some folk so here're a few more clues...

My body is made from the sands of time
I'll often be found in a bar
    My contents are preferably fortified
too much and you may just see stars

    A cup?
    A shot glass?
    A snifter?

Beyond something to drink from, I'm just guessing.
