how atoms emit photon? how electrons in atoms change energy levels? what's the mechanism?

when we rob hands, how the fiction force becomes heat? atoms in our hands emit photons? or atoms vibrate to produce heat?

atoms in our hands emit photons?--> Does the temperature increase come from the atoms in our hands emitting photons?

or atoms vibrate to produce heat?--> Is the temperature increase due to the atoms in our hands vibrating (translational kinetic energy)?
