We have all seen them. Are you in denial about having them?

My ankles are 7.5 inches (19 cm)

The average women's ankle is 10-12 inches (25-30.5 cm). Men's are a bit larger.

I always figured cankles were about how large your calves were in comparison. No matter the size, if you can't tell where the ankle starts, its a cankle.

Does anyone know if there is an equivalent for wrists? A warm?

Mine are 25.5 cm (10 inch).
I fail to see how you could think you might have cankles. Unless, of course, either of us didn't measure it the right way.
Did you measure across both ankles (if you know what I mean..

), so the widest point ?

Maria Callas refused to do a production of a famous and much-liked opera (I forgot which one exactly) because in it, she would have to dance a bit and show her ankles. And she didn't want to do that, because she feared her ankles were unfit to be shown.

She never showed her ankles them? So did she always wear pants?

Alright, I remeasured like they do in the picture. Now it's 23 cm (9.1 inch).
You must have really slender ankles

And on a raised foot. This can affect the measurement.

On stage, she wore long dresses. For pictures, she posed in such a manner that her ankles were not very visible. Although there are some pictures in which her ankles can be seen.

It was strange - such a famous and capable singer, yet so self-conscious.

I agree, both tendons (front and back) relax when you do measure like that.
    Time to remeasure again

    Edit: It's now 22 cm (8.7 inch).
    And.. I'm starting to worry

I'm very self conscious about my toes. My Mom once told me I have toes like my dad, "your big toe is almost mushroom in shape" and I rarely wear open toe shoes or sandals.

For example - if you tie your shoes while sitting down and not standing in them, you are likely to tie them too much. The position of the foot and the weight it carries obviously make a difference in its exact size.

But no, I didn't go and statistically measure, on a large sample of people, how much position and where the weight is placed affect the ankle measures ...

Oh, mine are the same measurement standing or raised.

Enmos, I think you have dainty ankles for a guy. Are your wrists small as well? Mine are 6 inches (15.25 cm)

    Apparently.. lol
    I'll go measure my wrists.

In my defense though, I walk a whole damn lot.

Left wrist: 17.7 cm (6.97 inch)
Right wrist: 17.9 cm (7.05 inch)

    So about 7 inches.

    Edit:
Oh, btw, the ankle measurement was on my left ankle.
I just measured my right ankle and it turns out to be a bit larger (?): 23.2 cm (9.14 inch).
