Or, I am wondering which word has lower rank thank anthropology. I think it is ethnolohie, is not it?

    Thanks in advance

The word "anthropology" comes from the Greek word anthropos, which means "man" or "human being." It is the study of the entire species of humans.

The word "ethnology" comes from the Greek word ethnos, which means "race," "nation," "tribe," etc. It is the study of individual communities of humans.

In other words, anthropology studies the things that make us all the same. Ethnology studies the things that make us different.
