Ants eatting hair

I just found an ant eatting down hair like a speggetti noodle. Do ants eat hair? I know they are scavangers, but I did not know they were that hungry?

well I actually tried to take a picture but every time I put the magnify glass up it ran for cover!:bugeye:

only when I put the magnify glass on it. these critters don't care otherwise.

this dragon fly posed for me though.

figures the ant wouldnt come out. it would of been a good picture. I would of called it speggetti ant.

seriously I've never seen an ant eat hair! I don't know why it should surprize me though. they are scavengers. maybe I'm fearful of the return zombie ant coming after me and it got a scent of my hair.
