    Saves me explaining why one of the mention IP's in a previous post would not have worked, as for why the other didn't. Probably a mixture of firewall and router configuration, open the ports, make sure the firewall allows the program and it should work without a hitch.

    Also make sure you patch the game to the latest version, this way your version numbers should match.

    Oh, I have patched the game to the latest version, I also do not posess a router and I have taken down my firewall. And I was pretty sure that one IP would not work since it was the one of my unused network card, nonetheless AOE2 displayed it as my IP for an internet game, which I thought was pretty weird.

    Anyway, I never get a response from slayer about the version number, otherwise, we tried playing over Gamespy and used the inbuilt chatfunction to spare all you others our blatant jabbering, but since gamespy sucks and was unable to launch the game on anyones computer we gave up.
