We are doing a unit on copper mining and acids/bases in my chemistry class, and the "world's largest acid lake" was brought up. Interesting topic. How can we solve this scenerio?

The problem is that the acid in the lake does not come from acid rain, but rather from the minerals underneath the water, so adding limestone or another base would only be a temporary solution.
