I'd say odd mix of science fiction, fantasy & historical fiction.

At least Jack Vance got a by-the-wayside mention. Didn't expect to see items like Hyperion Cantos, The Stars My Destination, and Book of the New Sun in a Top-25 list. Not that they're undeserving, but I figured they still got as many puzzled looks today as they did in the book club meetings I attended a decade and a half ago. ["Shrike, you say?" "Jaunte?" "Lead character accidentally reviving his grandmother who died decades before at a young age and unknowingly having...?"] In retrospect I realize now that maybe everybody was just stranged-out by Hopp's unusual outfits when it came her turn to talk about what she'd recently read. Hey, Hopp, if you're out there: I was familiar with the books / series but didn't want to attract any of those same looks my way. And that was also long before some Lady Gaga started ripping off your sense of fashion style and desensitizing the world to it. How was I to know you were ahead of your time?
