Spadge, please do I'd be very interested. Christopher O'Brien's book "Enter the Valley" gave it roughly 3 pages (142-145); that included the passing reference to the sixteen year old girl found by the New Mexico State Patrol. O'Brien's source claimed such cases weren't as rare as one would expect and that info. regarding "human mutilations" is kept from the news media; obviously. It's difficult to ascertain if these US "human mutilations" have occurred because there seems to be little documented evidence unlike the Guarapiranga Reservoir case from Brazil. It definitely puts the whole cattle mutilation phenomenon into a different light.

The body itself was found near the Guirapiranga Resevior in Brazil on the 29th September 1988. The name of the man was withheld from the media at the request of his relatives.

I would not like to offer any opinion on this case but I'm sure that people familar with animal mutilation cases will certainly see the similarities. Disturbingly, the Brazilian police officers involved also intimated that they were aware of a further dozen similar unsolved murders.

The following information contains the results of the official autopsy and I suggest that anybody of a squeamish nature should not read on.

The body itself was in perfect condition. Rigor mortis had not set in and it was estimated that the victim had been killed approximately 72 hours previously. There were no signs of animal predation or putrefacation which might have been expected. Strangely there was no smell. Bleeding from the wounds was minimal.

    The autopsy also stated:

'There has been removal of extensive tissue along many parts of the face, head and neck of the victim. There has also been extraction of ocular tissue, eyes, auditive internal and external organs (ears) and entire parts of the head. The toungue and several muscles were also extracted.'

It appeared that the surgery was done with agility and care and probably with speed. The lack of profuse bleeding suggests the use of a laser like instrument producing acute heat and cauterising the edges of the wounds almost immediately. The autopsy report also observes that:

'The shoulders and arms have perforations of one to one and a half inches in diameter where tissue and muscles were extracted. The edges of the perforations were uniform as were their size. The chest had shrunk due to the removal of internal organs which had been sucked out through the small circular incisions. The belly button was removed leaving a 1.5 inch hole in the abdomen and a depressed abdominal cavity showing the removal of intestines.

The scrotum was removed by a 3 x 1.5cm eliptical incision. The penis itself had not been removed although it appeared to have been stretched to twice its normal length. The pubic hair was missing. The anus orifice of the victim was extracted with a large incision and the rectum and other internal parts had been removed.
