Its a squat lobster -Munida rugosa they grow to about 30-40cm long - measured from the tip of the claws to the end of the carapace - carapace is max about 10-15cm long they are tasty too ! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squat_lobster
These ones are quite fun - I took them with nothing more fancy than a phone camera pointed down the eyepiece of a microscope. they are crab larvae - the first one is masked crab: Corystes cassivelaunus and the second is a common shore crab Carcinus Maenas Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
