IIRC the Politburo of the old Soviet Empire was full of beings everybody called dinosaurs. They looked pretty reptilian, too. And you never saw them from behind, where you could check for tails.

Dinosaurs did not exist 30 million years ago (except for their descendents, the birds).

Hey Genji, did you know that at the current rate of Earth spin slowdown, a day 30 million years ago would have been about four hours long?

    History or MYTH ???????

I´ll never forget the story about St. George and the Dragon , which originated from the story of a knight killing a crocodile with a spear ......:m:

That is scary. No one wears red with green like that.

Anyway, why did the marine reptiles die in a flood?

Many of the marine reptiles survived, look at the reports from many lakes in Britain through the centuries, Loch Ness, etc., and don't forget Leviathan in the Bible, and sightings by mariners as well.

It got washed away. Anyway, we were mud back then, rapidly eroding into the sea.

IAC, "a lot" of marine reptiles didn't survive to the present day - in fact, none did. The Loch Ness monster is a myth.

Why have alligators stuck around for "300 million years?" Is it because they're so smart, so fast, and so not obvious?
