Maybe in 2021 is the better time to buy?

I would think the longer you can put off any purchase, more so with phones computers and cameras, the better.
The longer you go the greater the selection and perhaps the price may drop.

I purchased a 5g tablet and phone only because I needed that wifi for a remote control unit to run my scope, mount and camera.

There is 5 g net work and 5 g wifi each different things.

5G offers great speeds and low latency, but I’d question whether you use your mobile phone for things that would greatly benefit from those.
If you’re only making calls (do people still do that?

), texts, social media, streaming, the odd game etc, then while 5G will be quicker, 4G is still more than adequate.
If you’re doing stuff that needs quick downloads and uploads of massive files, or using your phone to stream 4K movies, that sort of thing, then maybe 5G is for you.
But you’d best check coverage... no point in buying 5G if you can’t benefit from it.

Personally I’m more than happy with 4G on my mobile (only had 3G until a few months ago) until I can replace my home broadband (FTTC) with a 5G setup.
Means I can ditch the landline completely.
But that can’t happen until my area has 5G coverage, and until my current broadband contract expires (another 18 months or so

wait for prices if that is an issue, because i suspect it could be.

You don't need a 5G phone unless you have _very_ unusual requirements (streaming 8K video or driving drones or something.) In a few years, every phone out there will support 5G, so your best bet is to just wait.

You might also weigh the merits of whatever technological advantage you gain against whatever data-harvesting advantage is gained by whatever criminal/corporate/governmental agents are monitoring your phone.

Some 5G phones specify SA/NSA, no frequency mentioned.
    Can I buy them?

You should immediately run out and buy the most expensive one you can find.
