When you play a FPS or someother game do you become emotional? I mean do you get mad when you loose, or do you feel sad when your teamates die, or do you just the whole time think, " this is a game"? Do you feel personally attached do anything in the game or the people that you play with? And i realize that my grammer is wrong with the commas.
Anyone who plays the games must get somewhat emotionally involved or the game wouldn't be any fun to play! Baron Max
No, obviously you are going to be somewhat dissapointed if you die, but i mean do you feel like the people you are playing with, the armies you are comanding wit, or thebots your are fighting with or whatever become emotional objects to you, like do you feel emotion for them, as opposed to merly dissapointment for yourself. For instance three people are playing an rts, and one person is defeating anothers army and is feelgin good about himself and his skills, one guy who is losing feels bad about his skills, and the third person who is loosing feels bad for his people who are dying even though they are not real.
I find myself yelling at the screen. A few examples: YOU'RE MINE ASSH*LE!! SOMEBODY GET THE F*#&ING FLAG!!! COVER ME! WTF WAS THAT!! THAT GUY'S CHEATING!! SOMEBODY GUARD THE F*#&ING FLAG!!! YOU F*#&ING CAMPER!! PLAY LIKE A MAN!! ....and so on.
i find myself actually ducking shots. some wads are so well made that i actually feel like i'm there.
I remember playing the third game of the Myst series and crying in the end... EH... you get really immersed in those games... they are incredibly realistic...
I used to get cranky playing PvP in WoW if I was unlucky enough to be in a pug. Cranky at the Alliance for using hacks and cranky at Horde who had no idea how to play.
I was pretty scared in The Suffering each time when I was grabbed by those f*#@in' freaks that hang on the ceiling. *Throwing headphones and yellin': "Go f*@k yourself you bat-like b***h!" Or in Resident Evil in scene with crows. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! FPS are generally played with variety of emotions. Action, adrenaline, no time for thinking... Especially if you play in multiplayer. RPG, Strategies, Simulations,... You could always think about your next move. But, shooters... Call of Duty is my favourite single FPS. Also, Operation Flashpoint was really good hardcore FPS, especially when I didn't know how to use map and when I first time played it, game was true survival experience. Ghost Recon is excellent tactical shooter. Pretty realistic. Or Return To Castle Wolfenstein, both single and multiplayer. I'm emotional when I'm playing Footbal Manager also. But, you cannot measure headshot with penalty. It's totally different experience. So my emotion vote goes to FPS games.
Hehe I remember whenever I played Championship Manager I used to literally bang the table in frustration, lousy players. Its bad enough that Aston Villa suck in real life too.
Hey Bells, which server were you on? Ever bump into a guy called Balcor? Plazma: what was your handle on RTCW? Still doing RTCW (man); used to do Lineage. Meh.
