I have a mouse pad that was given to me that is almost 20 years old now and has outlasted several computers. It was made alongside with the 2000 dpi rollerball Razer Boomslang. It's a gaming pad and I'm pretty sure it's dishwasher safe, but I just use Windex. I use an optical mouse on it, however, it has a black surface and I got to wondering what if I used a small mirror instead?

using an optical for gaming is like using the trash can as an ice hockey stick

I have an old red mousepad on my desk, which i clean with rubbing alcohol (not that smeary blue spray they give you for the screen) about twice a week, when I also de-fuzz my mousy's little feet.
At the TV, I use an upturned tissue box.
