They only can exclude 15 to 20 galaxies as the sources of microwaves .

We need to be able to step out these galaxies and see if what we have found is consistent from more than just our own perspective .

Both electromagnetic , in any form and physical particles need a medium in which to move . Without the medium , whether in it and/or on it , the energy from the source , our Sun for example could not release its energy . Because there is no medium for which the energy could be released . The energy would build up .
