What does a "free market" healthcare system look like? Do you have an example where a "free market" healthcare system has been successful? Do you have a proof of concept? No. You don't, because none exists. All "free market" healthcare systems have been failures. Unfortunately, folks like you who are ignorant, believe without question in the "free market" God. You believe that there is something magical in free markets which cures all ills. Unfortunately for you, history and science has repeatedly debunked that myth.

The reason we have Medicare, the reason we have the VA, is because the "free market" failed. The reason we have Obamacare is because the "free market" failed. Obamacare was created because healthcare costs had spun out of control with America spending more than twice what other developed countries paid for their healthcare and receiving a fraction of the healthcare and lesser quality of care.

And the fact is Obamacare does offer price choice. Obamacare participants can choose how much they want to spend. They can buy lower cost plans or more expensive plans. It's their choice. So this lie, that Obamacare participants don't have choices in the plans they choose is just a flat out fiction.

They do however, have to have insurance. That's kind of what insurance is all about. It's about spreading the risk. So in order for it to work and to keep prices low, everyone must share in the risk. It's really not that difficult to understand. It's just basic math, and no amount of "free market" voodoo is going to change it. But for some reason it vexes Republicans, i.e. people like you.

You know there is a reason why insurance companies don't offer insurance policies to people after a loss has been incurred. They would go bankrupt if they did, and that's basically what Republicans are proposing with their "free market" agenda. If someone gets hurt or becomes ill, they go to the hospital, and they will be treated because they are legally and morally required to do so. But the uninsured don't have to pay for that care. When they get the bills, they can simply refuse to pay. So we all pay for the care of the uninsured. Those reimbursed costs are passed onto government in the form of government subsidies and to folks with healthcare insurance.

This idea of a "free market" healthcare system Republicans are pushing would actually increase healthcare insurance costs. Eliminating the requirement that everyone be insured would be like offering car insurance retroactively to people after they have suffered a loss. It makes no financial sense whatsoever. But people like you, buy it. That's why Republican entertainers sell it to you. They don't have to pay the bills. You do.

And you think any of that makes sense...seriously? As has been explained to you, there is competition within the Obamcare model. Insurance companies can compete against each other and three varieties of healthcare insurance are offered, each with different pricing: bronze, silver, and gold.

Well, for starters, not all of the 20 million people participating in Obamacare are poor. That's your first mistake.

Two, it's more than a little crazy for you to argue for "free market" healthcare and a few sentences later argue for a totally government owned and run system of healthcare. Which is it Wellwisher, "free market" healthcare or government healthcare?

You need to get your story straight.

The VA system is relatively small. It cannot handle its current burden and you want to add 20 million more people to it....seriously? There are about one or two VA hospitals per state. So you, a "free market" kind of person who vehemently opposes Obamacare, because you know, it's "govmentcare" want to replace Obamacare, which is a private care healthcare plan, with a government owned and operated healthcare system. You don't see the contradictions in that?

Your VA for all plan would require a massive amount of money. The government would have to build and operate thousands of new hospitals and clinics. That's an exceptionally strange argument to make for a person who supposedly believes in "free markets" and hates Obamacare because it's "government care", and the funny thing is you don't see the contradiction.

Obamacare is most akin to Medicare, but the Republican base doesn't consider Medicare a government take over of healthcare as they do Obamacare. The Republican base loves Medicare, but hates Obamacare. The contradictions are blatant and ubiquitous, and the Republican base remains oblivious.
