The other day I downloaded the new version of Firefox, 3.5.6.

Browsing the internet and posting on forums has become a drag.

I keep getting the message that it cannot access the requested page. Although upon clicking the link again one or more times, it does access it.

The Internet Explorer that runs on the same machine works fine, so it doesn't look like something would be wrong with the internet connection.

The previous version of Firefox worked fine, too.

Does anyone else experience the same problems with Firefox 3.5.6?

Nope. I've been using it for about two-three weeks now and haven't had a single problem.
Oops, I'm on 3.6.Beta5 is that what you meant?

I'm using 3.5.6, and have noticed no difference in browsing speed, or any other behavior, since the update.

I noticed when I installed Firefox it was behaving strangely as well. It was eating up a lot of my screen space and had intermittent stability issues. It was clunky and its toolbar features were not intuitive and partially useless - I found a solution to the problem, I opened up IE.

Firefox seems a bit slow to me, too, and I've been having more "page not found" issues as well.

It seems slower to start up, too. Whatever they did in the last build, something went horribly wrong.

I've been using Firefox 3.5.6 since it came out (I have automatic updates, so I can't recall exactly when) and have had no trouble with it. The only minor nuisance (which has been true for a while so it probably predates this version) is that after a restart it takes several seconds to load. Repeated loads are quick.

Yes, it's awful. It seems to sit on the connection or something.

It must be something other than Firefox because I, and some others that have posted here, have no problems whatsoever.

Your operating system is the problem.

    You have a corrupted OS.

    I haven't noticed anything yet...

If so [and I've resorted to this before..] there's always: OldVersion

How did my OS become corrupt, and what can I do to remedy the situation?

Start by telling me what OS you are running.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the OS. I have a strange feeling that their proxy settings have been tampered with.

I keep this in a text file, so I can just ctrl+V it when it's needed.

I realize you've already told me the OS.
