    The list of members of Trump's team "very senior" enough to "direct" Michael Flynn is very short.

    side note: People treated Bannon's departure as a force-out, a loss by Bannon of influence. This puts a different spin on that. Bannon's no fool - if he arranged to get himself booted,
    if,
    that reduced not only provable complicity but even the legal ramifications of the apparent wariness and knowledge that a completely voluntary departure might suggest.

    He's gonna say someone in the Oval Office directed him and/or was aware of what he was doing. Do recall Sally Yates warned the Trump Administration about Flynn and they promptly fired her. And only fired Flynn AFTER it became public knowledge he was lying to Pence.

    1/27: Trump asks Comey for loyalty and to "lay off" Flynn
    1/30: Trump fires Yates
    2/13: Flynn resigns after WashPost reports Yates warned of blackmail risk
    2/14: Trump asks Comey to drop Flynn probe
