Just for the sake of argument:
Say all athiests are wrong.
Say there is a god, and it created the universe.

So what?

Why not just leave it at that?

Why not go about your lives with one extra piece of knowledge in your brains, and refrain from worshiping a piece of literature detailing about how some guy thought that this god interacted with so-and-so however long ago?

What's the point?

The nature of God?

Are we presuming that this God is known through any particular defined faith?

I think the issue of whether to leave it at that is tied to the nature of God in the sense that the purpose of humanity's creation might well change according to the needs of a specific godhead.

To the other are broad, less defined notions of God; since these acknowledge a certain mythical zone, they claim no particular accuracy except as stories and ideas. If the godhead is actually the simple force of being, the issue can be left as such because, as at least one atheist has pointed out, God becomes relatively unnecessary.

thanx,
