The US Navy's latest toy, Laser Weapon systems. Designed to quickly take out enemy aircraft and arrays.

The laser can't shoot far, it losses its power as it goes through the air and this is a plastic drone that travels slow not a missile that travels supersonic. Lasers can easily be defeated by using a mirror like substance on the nosecone of any missile which would deflect the laser away and never "kill" the missile. I think rail guns would be better and they have already proved themselves as very lethal and do not use ammunition at all, only pieces of steel that look like staples. The rail guns fire at over 6,000 MPH which when hitting anything in its path utterly destroys it.

Those are some big guns. But I suppose the lasers are stealthier.

The unit itself is about the same size as the laser but the laser needs a very large generator to make enormous power that makes it work. The railgun uses electromagnetic power which doesn't need as much energy to make it work. How can either of these devices be stealthy when they are both mounted on the top of ships and are about the same size?

The laser could be mounted on stealth aircraft, who knows what they have up their sleeves? I guess you believe in rail gun superiority

    lol

If the US ever goes into action against Fat Kimmy, we may get to see how well these things truly work.

Personally i think lasers like most of you do not work that well.

Also i think they are far more advanced, and saving the good stuff for something in a few decades, lol

The North has mostly ground attack forces, not much air power nor sea power either. The North has destroyers only and not many. Its air force isn't much either, older Russian Migs.

So there's little chance of them being put into action?

Remember the movie "The Mouse that Roared"? Replace "Grand Fenwick" with "North Korea" and you get the idea, excet Kim wants to blackmail for big bucks, not lose and thus win big bucks.

Very little because that's all the North has, they can't replace things they lose very fast because they purchase everything from other countries and don't build much of their own equipment. Oh they could start up something but in a few hors there main HQ would be destroyed thereby leaving them without any way to communicate and instruct their troops what to do.
