Well as far as I can tell Steorn itself is not interested in directly building devices but merely issuing licences. So to get people interested in buying licences they needed credibility thsu the use of a scientific validation jury.
if they have a working device it must be realised just how awesome that is to the global ecconomy not to mention international stabilities. [esp. middle east]

If I am not mistaken just about 90% of world ecconomy is directly linked to oil supplies. [ just a guess ok ] Orbo would change that dependancy almost over night. The ramifications are just too big for one small company or even a big company to control, so global releaase would be the only sensible option. But to do that they need a way of gaining credibility hence the jury panel idea.

May I suggest they sack the jury(who all obviously caught mumps during thermodynamics clasess) and hire some homeless people to go around with sandwichboards saying WE IS CREDIBLE?

Maybe its not a scam, just a human experiment to see how many people fall for it.

If it is an experiment in human behavior/curiosity it's a damn expensive one...

I heard it was being driven to London for the demo in a truck that was powered by water and some "converter pills" that turned out to be a scam. Sad.

Interesting pics Pete. Doesn't look like the wheel rotates and somethng else must go round instead.....what do you reckon....?
The wheel looks like it is fixed inside a plate of perspex or something.

It's 11:30am on July 6 in London. The cameras are live (good bandwidth!), showing people moving around outside, a couple of people inside the museum, and a very immobile Orbo.

Not a good demo so far...

    Is this it?

 Maybe we have to all tune our thoughts simultaneously and shout "turn!" with sincerity. Or maybe scientific scrutiny spoils the karma chameleon - You know like Uri gellas mind bending has never worked under controlled scrutiny because his hebbi gebbis are hassled or something.

You'd think they would have set it all up and made sure it works before announcing the event...

There's no wire, no copper and no magnets? How is this supposed to produce electricity again?

    This guy is a joker.

1.He never once explained how it worked.
    2. Said it worked earlier upstairs but something happened when they moved the machine.
    3. Said the problem was from heat from the lights on the camera's
    4. Then Say's the problem was the bearing and said he only had one. The other is at his shop. (How convienient)
    5. When asked what was wrong with the bearing he couldnt explain. He dodged the question by saying the bearing is super complex.

Yeah youve got to wonder even if it is legit (big if) how on earth is it even going to be implemented into everyday technology if it cant even work at a complete stand-still in moderate room temperature conditions.
