Dennis: What about people who just have a brush with death, but who do not have a "near death" experience? People who have traumatic experiences in which they are in mortal danger, or come close to death, often come out of such experiences with an altered outlook on life. Almost dying often brings a sense of focus. It doesn't have to be a mystical or religious thing. You use words like "my guess" and "seems" and similar terms a lot, Dennis. Maybe you should stop guessing so much. Start with the facts, and don't go running off on wild flights of fancy before you have the facts.
