Was a political meme war played out, right in front of our eyes? AND Trump won it? Last year two political memes revolving around Trump's candidacy made their way from 4Chan et.al. into mainstream conversation (e.g.: CNN: What does the alt-right do now that 'God Emperor' Trump won?) 1. The first was Pepe the Frog. This was promulgated by Trump's team themselves. They (or He), posted it to his Twitter account. It's sort of brilliant in a meme-ish sort of way. So stupid as to be ridiculous, and yet somehow this frog is all over the internet, sometimes with a racist undertone, others times not - always a troll. It's probably pretty hard to troll a troll. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! 2) The second meme is more confusing than the first (and the OP title). It's supposedly Trump as God-Emperor. Somehow this meme has staying power and is still, daily, being used by people in the AltRight to refer to Trump. Why? I believe it has something to do with the game War Hammer 40,000? And yes, I did take a look into the War Hammer wiki - apparently there's a human (maybe?) that has super mental powers and resides in blah blah blah.... dying empire. Though that seems to be War Hammer reference and this is a War Hammer picture. While I find both meme's rather ridiculous, I do think they fit quite comfortably within the American psyche. Different, but similar. Both ridiculous, as to be utterly absurd, and yet - POTUS is Donald Trump. Surely, not a coincidence. So: Did Trump just win the first major Political Meme War of the 21st Century? I wonder what's next? Incidentally, the word meme was coined by Richard Dawkins in his book: The Selfish Gene (I read this a long time ago, it was pretty good - the bee genes was my favorite). As a matter of fact, the SAME thing happened when the Progressive Socialists of the early 1900s banned alcohol! Massive gang violence. Which is WHAT the Government WANTS. They know banning drugs will cause drug-gangs and violent ghettos, they just don't care. It's a win-win for them. Think of the all the JERBS. Not to mention all the power.
