cool ones! exactly what are the rules of Haiku? I know for sure that once in a while a thought pops into my mind...and I wanna write it down but it's just a couple sentences so I often just don't write it down Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Haiku rules are simple 3 lines first line has 5 syllables second has 7 third has 5 No need to rhyme or anything. Oh, and the more cryptic you can be, the better. Mike
why are haiku's considered "special" ? the rules seems pretty simple and random 5-7-5 - anyone know how it came to be precisely that? it is not that i dislike them - on this thread i definately have to complement Carnuth's haiku on losing half the world - very nice haiku imho
the idea is to limit yourself to find a greater level of creativity. imagine an acrobat tired of all the same old same old tricks, so he binds himself, ties one leg, and lashes an arm to his body at the elbow. then He goes about coming up with new manuvers given his new limitations. A test to see if you can do more with less.
