History: Bush Was a Great President

I posted on another thread about how President Bush will be remembered as one of the great presidents. People laughed at me and called me stupid. Someone refuted their comments better than I could:

Remember 9/11 when President Bush said "Al-Qaeda's behind this. We know it, and we're going to find them wherever they are, and we're going to root them out."

Long after we're all gone historians will rank Bush in with the greatest presidents who had broad visions for America. He'll be remembered as one who looked beyond our shores and didn't just restrict himself to domestic policy.

Afer 911 he could have said "You know, our intelligence says this and that, but this is just the way of the world. We've just got to deal with it," like some democrats are saying. Even some democrat presidential candidates say, "Well, we gotta deal with this." Columnist Rosa Brooks of the LA Times says you gotta learn to live with it.

President Bush said "No, we're not going to put up with this; we're not going to put up with 3,000 innocent Americans being slaughtered by terrorists, wherever they are. We're going to find them wherever they are. We're going to root them out. We are going to make an attempt to turn down the temperature that is the boiling cauldron of all this hate in the Middle East." Iraq was the place chosen to make this change. (Saddam Hussein was boasting about weapons of mass destruction, bragging about how he had them. Every intelligence agency in the world knew he had them.)

The president said it was going to be hard; it could take a long time, maybe generations. But everything about it is admirable.

There are two people in the world that are serious about doing something about it: John Howard in Australia and George W. Bush and their military commanders. They're pressing on even when people don't take the time to fully understand what's going on. When it works, it's going to be one of the most redefining and important periods in American history.

We're not going to just sit here and accept defeat. We defend ourselves, our allies, the way we seek freedom and prosperity for as many people around the world who are willing to work for it and want it.

Bush is trying to preserve the United States as it has been known, not leave it a random victim of terrorist attacks. People are against him but that hasn't stopped him. This is a serious undertaking. It is valorous, and in time, it will be so recorded as American history. Amen.

Anyway, One Raven, I've no idea what your political beliefs are, but I feel compelled to point out that Nazism and Marxism are not mutually exclusive. Nazism was a perverted form of Marxist/Socialism, hence the word Nazi, which is an acronym that partially (and roughly) translates in national socialism...

Remember, Hitler and his ilk assumed control of the means of production in Germany and managed the economy.

I know where the term Nazi comes from.
Hitler's vision of National Socialism is NOTHING like Marx and Engels's vision of Communism.
The two are simply not compatible.
Have you ever read The Communist Manifesto?
If you have, I can't fathom how you could come to the conclusion that they are compatible in any way.

Bush is all talk. Virtually every thing he has done since being president has undermined our fight against Islamic extremists.

Q But don't you believe that the threat that bin Laden posed won't truly be eliminated until he is found either dead or alive?

THE PRESIDENT: Well, as I say, we haven't heard much from him. And I wouldn't necessarily say he's at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

*Terrorists are crimminals. Terrorism has been here since the beggining of time. And will remain as long as man lives. The only thing you can do is punish those responsible. Not collective punishment like the Israelei's. That's like saying we're going to have a war on Rape. And unitl the Earth is free of Rapists, all Men will have to be ubiqitiously monitored and open to 4 way searches 3 times a day.*

Shortly after Sept. 11, the Department of Justice inspector general conducted an investigation into why a Phoenix FBI agent's memo regarding flight schools had been ignored. **********

Yep you're right, Bush was all over it.

AHAHAHAHA (choke) AHAHAHA (catch breath) Can you please tell me why your Savior John Howard has only sent 1400 troops to Iraq? Sounds like he's putting it all the line.. nOT!

    Just like in Darfur?

Bush is just not very good at seeing things that should be done. He follows the flow of those around him, sometimes giving in to their demands without realizing it serves no purpose.

Under Marxism, there are corporations and the workers own them. Under Stalinism there are corporations and the government owns them. Under Fascism there are corporations and they own the government.

The Nazis called themselves Socialist for the same reason the Soviets called themselves Socialist - it was good PR. It's like Coke calling itself the Real Thing. Socialism, like other real things that work, has a good name.

You can hate my president, hate my country, hate God, and hate everything else you want to hate. I have faith in my president, my country, and my God.
