    "Their stool kills bacteria".
    How do you know this?
Have you examined the soil under a microscope?

For human gut health, bananas are a very beneficial food,
because the large chain sugars get beyond the stomach into the intestines.
Perhaps you could trial them on dogs.

All I do to make my homemade yogurt is to take a 2 liter of homogenized milk as it comes from the supermarket. Pour half of it into a previously cleaned out 2 liter milk bottle (1 liter in each) using your eye-ometer. Then add a half of a packet of Natural acidophillus yogurt to each, put the top back on shake it and then leave it in a dark cupboard at around 25 degrees for a few days till it has brewed.

Done in about 2 minutes flat. Once you have a good batch just keep using what you have made to make more.

I have been doing this for over 1 year now. If your own culture is getting a bit odd, start again with Natural Yogurt culture.

The most important thing is to put the top on the milk bottles before shaking them!

Later explore the use of cheap over ripe fruit and blend them into your yogurt with a stick blender. The fermentation of the fruit adds to the tanginess.
