    They might have been finishing nails, pegs really, for a story written decades after the supposed happening,really? In some countries the nails are displayed with a very crude pairs of pincers. You could pull nails without touching the alleged body by using spacing blocks als fulcrums for a levered crow bar. but
    only if there was a talking snake, any of this would be relevant. surely with thousand of cruxifixions, (fictions), they must have had an efficient method?
    note the fiction in cruxifixion.
