    I think also there was some talk about older people still not trusting banks and, figuratively speaking, had lots of cash under their mattress

    "I use cash only about 20% of the time"
    but I live in rural Canada so if I pick up eggs from a local farmer they do not accept either Visa or debit card. Like you at that fast food drive through it is sometimes easier to use cash for small purchases.
