Only consciousness exists. Without you, nothing would exist. You cannot consider yourself to be what you see because it is what you see. The physical body and the world appear in consciousness. Our survival needs are based on a belief in the material things. We must give up the material world and go inward.
If you are correct 1) what the hell is the material world that you think we need to give up? 2) why would 'inward' (even if direction is possible in a non-material reality) be good and outward be bad? Why is it that most people who tell us that everything is really _________ (this or that one thing) always have a dualism where they tell us that this part of __________ is good and this part of __________ is bad.
What's sad is that in the most literal of senses, this is absolutely correct. For something "to exist" something has to "think it so" otherwise is just is or isn't and there's no one to care or establish either way. It is wrong however to say nothing exists as in, there is nothing without consciousness. Without consciousness, there is only the unknown - which could exist or not but like i said, there's nothing to give a shit, no means of differentiation - only tao. But it seems to me you're saying something else completely, and it sounds like new-age propaganda type crap. What the hell do you think we've been doing? Where does all this tech come from? Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaainz.
Inward to where? Surely we await the arrival of the cosmic Übermensch, a biological being who will cross the final Rubicon?
What if non-entities are jealous and that is why they occasionally try to convince beings that do exist that they too do not?
Conciousness is non existant. There is the deceit of conciousness, where your brain can actually show itself what it is doing. Somehow it actually seems seperate from other processes of the brain. This is the deceit of concious thought.
I think what he means by that is that consciousness doesn't exist as a separate something, but is just the effect of particular biochemical and electrical processes of the brain. Much like, for instance, happiness doesn't exist by itself, it's produced by the brain. No brain, no consciousness..
This is not a proof. Some questions by the way: what do you mean by god ? Does consciousness have to come from somewhere/something? If yes, where does brain come from? if you answer matter. where does matter come from?
I see no point in a discussion about that. What I want to know is where you think consciousness comes from.
Right.. :bugeye: I am not going over this again.. You can find plenty about it on this forum alone, plus you can search the net for it.
