"this thread has been edited by..."

Every time someone edits their post the little "this post has been edited by so and so" appears. Is there any way we can keep that from appearing?

I often write and submit posts as "rough drafts" and then come back later to polish them up, but that annoying little line is there and it looks bad.

I know that most forums tell others when you edit your own posts, but I would like to know if this can be changed here.

You have a grace period of a few minutes after you post before it'll say that you edited your post.

At least we have this so that we can edit spelling and grammar mistakes quickly without the "this post has been editted appearing," but what if I find them an hour later. That little line at the bottom of the screen tarnishes our posts.

Six minutes later and the edit tag is there already. Some grace period.

There is a "preview post" button, if it'll help.

I just editted a post to turn off the email notification, and that annoying little line is now at the bottom of the post.

I usually put a line at the bottom of the edited post to tell everybody what i edited.

    **edit- nothing...yet.

i do that if it has been more than a minute or two since the origional post and its not a spelling error. if its a spelling error, i only change it if it alters the post example: if i meant to say wouldn't and wrote would. (big diff there). its not that i spell bad i just type faster than i think so common mistakes such as their and they're come out when i type that i would never mistake while writing. also, my nails make my fingers slide off the keys. which im getting better at controlling.
