I'm so happy! A few months ago, I had submitted my homepage to Google so they'd include it in searches. I've waited and waited and waited . . . But today, I searched, and I found! I found not only my homepage, but my SciForums profile and blogs too! Here's the picture to prove it: http://www.sciforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3259&stc=1 If ya wanna see the real live search yerself, just type in "Athelwulf". I'm really happy!
Heh...I had some mild joy too when I put sargentlard in google search field and my posts showed up. Congratulations...you're now in the hall of shame like the rest of sciforumers. Google has tarnished your name.
Yayness! AND LOOK! I've reached my 700th Post! This is a good day for SciForums! Happy 700th Post To Me, Happy 700th Post To Me, Happy 700th Post, Dear Self, Happy 700th Post To Me!
Google actually starts to lower the amount of posts from forums that it caches, it's totally dependent on if they rework their criteria within their search engine, if they find themselves wasting space on irrelavent pages that have been spidered eventually they remove them from being spidered, which can occur with forums. Increasing your sites profile on the internet though just requires being spidered and making sure that you share your Domain or URL link with other people so that you point at each other. The more times people point at each other, the higher the rating (And therefore the higher the position in search engines). This is the main reason that you see some websites while either waiting development or just being squatted link to other search engines, those search engines then are the ones that ring up companies asking them if they want to get in the top 5 of a google search for a price, or sending e-mails out for the same. The reality is they actually push their search engine up the ranking and supposedly take the companies they have inputted into their database with them. However Google I don't believe condones this, in fact I would guess that this third party method of selling site indexing is probably illegal and against their code of conduct, so don't be fooled by the search engines that have no real identity. (Namely those that are neither mainstream or legitimate)
