    First-ever image of dark matter?
By Deborah Byrd in SPACE | April 12, 2017
The scientists say their image, which combines images from more than 23,000 galaxy pairs, confirms dark matter’s existence. Will other astronomers agree?

Dark matter filaments bridge the space between galaxies in this false-color map. The locations of bright galaxies are shown by the white regions and the presence of a dark matter filament bridging the galaxies is shown in red. Image via RAS/ S. Epps & M. Hudson / University of Waterloo.

    this is not new news.
this is quite old. maybe some 5 to 10 years atleast ?
the detection was a detection of something which is theorised 'as' probable dark matter.

NOTE ! i am not attempting to cast dispersions on Deborah.

if you have a wee google you should be able to find reference to the original detection some years back.
if you decide to, please post any new links to new discussion(or reviews etc) on it. it will be very interesting.
