Really, the US Dollar is the trust of God?
How many people who use the US Dollar trust God?
Any significance to put the motto on the note today?

    Any chance to remove it?

We live in the world of celebrity and selfie, where many people are conditioned to play the role of an idol god; social media, for other people to follow, worship and even copy. This is not the same as the God that is on the dollar bill. That God is connected to character development, not being a character. Character is not a fad but is connected to collective human propensity to do good.

The celebrity mentality is driven my Madison Avenue and Hollywood, both connected to Liberalism; New York and California. Just as the media can make or destroy characters or can help define one's two minutes of fame, the misunderstanding has lead to the assumption that God is another character that can be made, have a shelf life or can be destroyed by Hollywood and social media.

God on the dollar is not from Madison Ave or Hollywood. These are false gods that appeal to the masses who lack character, but who have been condition to believe that makeup, pretend and celebrity is the same as character. Nobody trusts these things to last.

Yes it is real. I has been on US paper currency since 1956 and US coins before then. I don't know how many Americans do not believe in a God. I don't think it is relevant. I don't know what you mean by significance. I don't think most Americans use physical currency these days. I rarely, use physical currency these days. So I don't think people pay much attention to what is printed on currency beyond the denomination value.

There have been movements to remove the "In God We Trust" motto from US currency but it they have all failed. I don't think it likely the motto will be removed from US currency either now or in the foreseeable future. It would take an act of congress, and I just don't see that happening. Most Americans probably don't care, but those who do care, care loudly.

It's a clear violation of the separation between church and state, but it would be political suicide to change it now.

If we really trusted God, we wouldn't have a military. Or a government.

It's morally wrong, but it's not legally binding.

So Republicans don't have celebrities? What do you call Ronald Reagan or Charlton Heston, or Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Bruce Willis, or Sylvester Stallone, or Clint Eastwood, or Jessica Simpson, or Wayne Newton, or Hulk Hogan, and the list goes on and on. The fact is as is always the case, you don't know what you write about. All you do Wellwisher is just repeat the memes you pick up from Republican entertainers like Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, and Fox News.

What it says on the money wouldn't be so relevant if everyone simply ignored it. The problem is that far too many people don't ignore it, and they interpret the words to mean that religious people have some natural right in America to impose their superstitions on everyone else. Ironically, for most of those Americans who take the words seriously, their actions in practice seem to suggest that they trust the money itself a lot more than the "God" printed on it.

That actually makes a pretty solid point. When "God" becomes a synonym for "Ted Cruz" or any other self-appointed prophet, that's when the trouble starts.

It's a valid question, regardless of who asks it.
There are people in the country that watch gay porn, that doesn't mean it should be represented on the currency that everyone ( the "we") uses.

    I declare BINGO!

........in the game of "Wellwisher Bingo" that I play from time to time. We've had quite a bit on entropy and water in other threads, so it was high time for liberals to get an outing.
