So that's your interpretation. That works better than thinking humans were made in a physical image of your God.
I can see how it may make sense to you but without some sort of evidence other than ancient hearsay in general it makes little sense to me.

They wrote a book. A great, fat, serious book, in four or five languages, with strict editing. Then they had generations of monks ruin their eyesight copying and illuminating this book in every sacred detail.
And for the next 1600 years, they quibble and lecture and argue and fight and write volumes of apologia and commentary, over why and how it doesn't mean what it says.
    You've got to wonder how that's cost-effective.

If Consciousness is Eternal, should we fear death?

The concept of after life at first was only for the Pharos of Egypt.
As time passed more people became entitled to what the Pharo expected.
These days anyone gets the prize it seems.
Takes their mind off the agonising time they will go thru when death catches up.
Imagine being eaten by a shark ..that will still give you nightmares in the after life.

Yep, that would be a hard one to let slide from memory.

This might interest you, Alex. If I were to make a guess about your age from your avatar, you already know...

I have tried but the movie will not play for me.

Nevertheless I thank you for posting something you think may interest me...that is a kind act unless you were being cute...but that's ok also...
I am 73 years old..not that you could tell. I have no fear of this virus or the prospect of death it presents to some folk.
I personally have been here for an eternity...I can not define when I got here nor shall I be aware of when I leave...my perception is that I am eternal ...I only exist in my mind... when I go so does my mind and all reflection of me... simple but rational...

By 'chat', do they mean: one old fart maundering on about some nonsense that doesn't interest the listener, who never gets to chat back?
