Asian nations have never been the source of innovation - India, Japan or China. That is one of the last advantages that we have in the West.

India, with China will extract what the West has invented and developed, and use it to attain power over the world. They already have nuclear weapons, an important piece of the puzzle. And they are extracting engineering knowledge as fast as they can set up contract houses for us to pay them to take it.

Of course their empires will come toppling down in a century or so, but they will have their time at the pinnacle, just like we did in the West.

Culturally, India is up there with the European/Mediterranean world and with China and east Asia. Like them, India produced a whole unique style of civilization.

India's probably been the most sophisticated incubator of religious philosophies and spiritual psychologies on the planet. In particular, there's an experiential element to Indian religiosity, an interest in personal religious experience, that's far more sophisticated and highly elaborated than anything developed in the Western religious traditions.

India's philosophical tradition in general is as old as that of the Greeks and in many specialties is comparable to Western philosophy in its sophistication. Western philosophers are only beginning to wake up to the fact that Indian philosophers addressed some interesting philosophical problems centuries earlier and in unfamiliar and perhaps fruitful ways.

The Indian Buddhist monastic universities such as Nalanda were tremendous academic establishments with world famous professors like Dharmakirti. (Nalanda's ruins are still impressive today and suggest the size and scale of this thing. See images here.) Interestingly, these north Indian universities were sacked and burned by the Muslims at almost the same time that the medieval universities like Paris and Oxford were being established.

Indian arts, food, music and literature are all fascinating and definitely deserve the world's attention.

And until the scientific and industrial revolutions in the 17'th-19'th centuries that thrust the West dramatically ahead, Indian craft industries, building techniques, metal working and so on were comparable with those of Europe. (And during the 'dark ages' subsequent to the fall of Rome, India was significantly ahead in material culture.)

    why the distinction?

was it a different story prior to the dark ages?

In about 30 years. For now, it will have to contend with being a regional power.

why do people like you keep spreading blatant lies? you should get a strong infraction for it. why?

because it's not true that others have not innovated, it's just that the west has been most prolific lately. also, material innovation is not the only type or of worth because people are not robots who just need material things to have meaning in life or fulfillment.

also, just because people like you don't recognize or devalue perhaps philosophies, religions, cultural idiosyncrasies etc of other races or nations doesn't mean they are not worthy or interesting in their own right.

furthermore, it's so common for people to care so much about who or what is going to be the next 'empire' when it really doesn't matter. it's actually immature such as wishing one goes down so another gets the limelight or one-up eachother etc. what matters is how wisely that knowledge is used by whomever to make a better life and world. hopefully, in the future there will be no 'empire'.

people like you are very small-minded and the type of thinking is what is part of the world's problems. i never understood this empty penis contest and for what? bragging rights? it's so empty because at the end of the day it's about people's lives and the quality of their life wherever they are, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically and that is what matters.

why does one wish for america to go down or china to go down so one can 'hog the limelight' etc. it's ridiculous. it would be better if america recovered and learned from their decadence and mistakes as well as other countries keep developing and try to do it wisely as well. is that such a fucking problem or is it too fucking mature for goddamn grownups????

it doesn't matter who comes up with the knowledge first. it should be used for the most benefit and wisely and for anyone to be selfish about 'owning' some type of knowlege for ego just to claim they invented it or came up with it first that could also benefit others is downright regressive and immature.

fortunately, there are some very intelligent and mature people who do have a higher vision unlike the masses of idiots like you. there is a difference between healthy and unhealthy competition. too many are short-sighted toward unhealthy competition. healthy competition is motivated or inspired by another to a better standard and is based on productive intent, unhealthy competition is based on destructive intent by bringing another down or keeping another down to keep to have the most power or resources. healthy competition always understands that the standard and the real reason for the goal is more important than for ego satisfaction as that can lead to psycopathy with no substance or real intent besides for powermongering, ego and destruction.

to horde knowledge or begrudge others if they can also benefit is an unhealthy competitive mindframe. for instance, if one has medical knowledge they can teach other nations or peoples to help themselves but won't in case they may become as proficient or eventually better so can no longer look down on them for this or that reason is shameful actually but this is exactly what this immature type of pissing contest is when there are more important and real issues at stake than one's ego or bragging rights over whatever. i mean, it just really doesn't matter unless it affects you negatively. not everything has to be a win/lose and to make everything a win/lose when dealing with others when it doesn't have to be is based on ill will.

doing or giving to others to the point of draining onself is unproductive and does no eventual favors for no one just as hording and being piggish is also unhealthy. that is the most beautiful aspect of sharing knowlege is it teaches others to do for themself. i mean only a disgusting asshole is going to want to live in a world where they live well among a downtrodden and suffering world just so they can look down on others so they can feel better than others. that said, the fear is also competition for resources but the truth is the earth produces a surplus so this isn't really the issue as long as greed is not the goal. this is another issue is learning to manage the earth's resources wisely and work together for better solutions. this means that eventual balance of world power will do everyone good.
