To illustrate the increasing level of the problem:

The solid lines are the rational voices, the broken are the deniers. As more time passes confirming the rational predictions, the more extreme the denial.

    Yes.
I was specifically addressing fear mongering. ("terrifying")
When some knave, any knave, tries to sell you something based on fear-----I don't much care what the hell he or she is trying to sell you, (advice) keep your wallet in your pocket.

Why fear what you do not know? Why jump on the fear mongers band wagon?

Have you studied the past interglacials?
Has any interglacial paleoclimate data ever abrogated the equable climate model?
    Just one instance?
    Just one?
Even just a tiny little bit?

    Are the ignorant always fearful?

Dude, I fear what I know. There's a difference. And yes, I have myself seen a Greenlandic glacier dissappear in the space of years.

(Come on, troll, you gotta give me a challenge here.)

    As posted above:
The Greenland ice cap was smaller @4000-7000 year ago.
Now, it may be shrinking again.(the mass balance remains in contention) And, we have a grand solar maximum and anthropogenic atmospheric forcing as 2 possible(likely?) variables.
In this experiment, the variables are difficult to control.

You may jump to conclusions if you wish.

So if your doctor told you you were sick and needed to be admitted to the hospital, and might die if you weren't treated - you would consider him a knave selling you things based on fear?
A good solution to that is to study up on climate change so you understand more.
Often yes. You see it all the time on places like Breitbart - "Reducing carbon emissions will bankrupt the US!"

    Just a curiosity:

    This was;
not the worst drought in 5000 years
not the worst drought in 4200 years
not the worst drought in 3000 years
not the worst drought in 1100 years
    (pattern?)

    Question:
When does picking a start date(900 years) become cherry picking?

Can't wait. There'll be great fishing in the submerged coastal cities.

Addressee? It abutted my post, but made no sense as a response.

Including how it comes to be that obvious threats indicated by physical facts are dismissed by finding someone fear-mongering about them - somebody says "we're all going to die aieeee!", so there is no bear?

We're still uninformed about the identity of these knaves. They keep coming up - who are they?
Probably not when it's the range of the data available.

The mass is not what was known to be smaller 4-7k back. The grand solar maximum has not been mechanistically connected in any way that explains current patterns, the CO2 forcing has. The direction of the melt rate and spatial extent, apart from the mass balance, is established and has implications of concern (for the currents, weather, etc). And so forth.

Your original foray into this line was in response to the observation that the "hockey stick" was not a trap set by knaves for fools, but instead an interesting and informative graph of some reasonably accurate data.

    Your point?

All those scoundrels who disagree with him of course! The knaves who agree with him are free thinkers, skeptics, groundbreakers etc. Remember - they laughed at Einstein too!

    Who laughed at Einstein?

    The quantum mechanics guys?

I do not accept that the "hockey stick" bears any reasonable resemblance to
Great shock value. Great hyperbole. Lousy science.

I submit that the perpetrators of this pseudo scientific fraud are knaves, one and all.
What do you value most, showmanship, or science.

    Showmanship? These nerds?

Are you even in the oil business?
