Isreal is not important , in fact Israel is immaterial , the current running amok in Lebanon has not affected oil prices nor caused a regional crisis . Israel is not economically part of the mid east , Israel exists solely on US aid and unfettered acess to the US and German consumer economies . If Israel was to disappear to morrow it wouldnt make a the mideast blink .What the mideast cannot accept about Israel is they see Israel as a creation of Western Colonialism in their region . Iran is the most important nation in that region this explains why the US and EU are literally falling over one another to either coerce Iran by monetary gifts or outright military threats to get Iran on side . Fact is the mideast realises America is economically deflating and is losing its once firm grip on the worlds economy . America is being supplanted by the EU as the centre of world finance and when that day comes soon Israel will go down with America .

the problem isnt with israel itself being a threat(it is a threat, but only regionally. its not a global threat) but as we have seen with their war against lebanon stirring up politics all over the world, it is only a matter of time before an outside nation steps in to defend lebanon(or whatever country israel invades next), then that would draw the US to israels support. once you have 2 lareg powers with puppets, it is only a matter of time before the conflict becomes more direct(luckily america realised its mistakes and left before this happened in vietnam), in which case we would see the start of WW3
