is life really generating order or is it just our false narrative perspective?

Because "It is what it is" is a discussion closer.

Humans are not really good with accepting such answers.
Clearly, it raises the subsequent question: why is it what it is?

Because "It is what it is" is a discussion closer.

Although it leads to investigation as to why "It is what it is". Unfortunately going down that rabbit hole eventually you never find the rainbow of truth, and have to concede "we have no explanation of this last bit except it is what it is"

Humans are not really good with accepting such answers.

    Agree

Clearly, it raises the subsequent question: why is it what it is?

Again if you can fit the pieces together that is the why, and, again down the rabbit hole, why are the pieces the shape so they fit together?

Eventually you give the dad answer

    JUST BECAUSE

    That's the discussion stopper

"It is what it is" because it's nothing special. If it were there would be tell-tale sign of abberations associated with the origin of life.

According to Hazen, life may well be abundant in the universe, and we are on the verge of being able to accurately predict where and when life might have risen from "commonly shared chemistry" on any given host.

IMO, it may be quite possible that life had several points of origin on earth as well elsewhere in the universe. And earth is not some exotic special planet. It's just a very ordinary collection of stellar stuff orbiting an ordinary star. Nothing special or fine-tuned about anything on earth. The biological epochs speak for themselves. Life originated and existed more or less successfully under all possible "ages" which the earth has experienced.

If earth can produce the incredible variety of organisms extant and extinct, what forbids life from also having originated on billions of possible other average host planets orbiting average stars, over a span of 14 billion years?

Why the hubris of exclusivity? Humans are just average mammals. Even the human brain sophisticated as it is, is not any more special than the brain of a whale, dolphin, octopus, and many other mammals, such as the apes. Each species' barains brains are perfectly adapted and efficiently functional in their environment, just as the human brain is to humans.

    My favorite expression;
Potential: "That which may become reality". It's a true statement, in all worlds.

its a human tendency to try to go down the why-rabbit hole perpetually! I agree

However a smart human should find the right rabbit hole to follow or approach it from the right angle.
In the question why everything my mom and dad did the last three nights before my conception is so fine tuned with my conception, the answer is because this is just what happened. It is what it is. I am just not approaching the problem from the right angle or perspective, so going down this why-rabbit hole would not be helpful.
Same as when you answer why i was the sperm that prevailed, or why i got a 4 and 5 after throwing the dice, or why i picked a 6 of spades, etc

    Oddly negative metaphor.

Earth-monkeys have one thing going for them: curiosity. It's our raison d'ĂȘtre.

all animals have curiosity in their own sense. Curiosity killed the cat.

I remember in high school trying to solve super difficult geometry problems. We were breaking our heads. It turned out that when somebody approached it from the right perspective, everyone was like: daaamn! it was so easy. why didn't i think of that?

Dude. We get the idea of looking at problems from a fresh perspective. It's not a deep concept.

why i was the sperm that prevailed
You were the fittest - you can go down more of the rabbit hole

why I got a 4 and 5 after throwing the dice
Physics - rabbit hole stops here

    why i picked a 6 of spades
No rabbit hole - move on

A smart person should understand if a rabbit hole is big enough for them to go in it is probably a cave with lots of goodies to find inside

But the goodies will not be unlimited so recognise when there are no more and get out

    Ummm

    Forget the rabbit hole.
The place is going down the tubes!
I just never can find a tube big enough.
Looks like we are essentially tubeless.
We do have plenty rabbit holes.....

Because we didn't have any influence over what it is and we don't have any influence over what it will be. At least not in any drastic way.
