These are currently Sci Forums active topics:
    • I can't ignore a moderator, why?
    • The Blessings of Hadhrat Isa ( Jesus )!
    • Bible story time with Pat Robertson
    • God doesn't exist or it is prideful
    • A New Breakthrough Theory of the Big Bang (by Josh Green!)
    • Jokes and Funny Stories II
    • Will religion in the U.S. die out from....
    • To prove God not existing, atheists conflate God with invisible unicorns.
    • Pope Francis: The Big Bang and Evolution Are Real
Is this even a science forum anymore? Was it ever?

It was never about science really. It's largely a place to argue about religion and a place for pseudoscience trying to pass as science.

Those headings are put into the appropriate forums so that they deal with the things in that forum. The religion forum is there because it discusses religion and not science and if you ever see a subject that doesn't belong in the forum you are viewing then just let a moderator know about it so that they will remove it and place it in the correct forum. Science is discussed in the proper forums here and if you would only read those forums you should only see science related threads.

This list is just general 'new posts' this isn't one particular forum.

All posts are inserted into different forums so when you say general I disagree for some are put into the forum which match there message. Religion forum will have religious posts, Physics will have science posts and so on.

There's nothing to disagree with. If you click the 'new posts' icon to see the latest threads, you get a general, across-the-board list regardless of the subforum.

The proportion of fringe has been over-high for a long time now. Years.
You could even say that things have improved,
because at least people are posting in the right sections.

One of the pleasures of logging on here is that you don't know what ridiculous thing someone is going to say next.

The only "misleading" aspect of this site is the title "Science Forums". From looking at the "new posts" it looks like it isn't primarily about "science".

However, as was pointed out, if you read only the science forums you can avoid reading about non-science issues. It's just that the name of the overall site is misleading...but so what?

It was, at one time, a place for scientific debate, with some light hearted other discussion thrown in (I remember when the Star Trek vs Star Wars debate would average over a hundred posts a day... the good old days)

    Now... well...

Science is still the bedrock of the forum.
At the moment the forum is general interest, a strange concoction made up of scientists and the lunatic fringe.
It works quite well, but there was better science in the past.
We have lost most of the postgraduate scientists we had here.
For a proper science forum they are absolutely essential.

The beauty of the English language is that it allows one to distinguish between lost and driven away.

Free range cranks. They roam here without restrictions.

What do you mean, driven away?

To postgraduate scientists I would add professional scientists.
We've never had many, and the loss of a small number has been to our detriment.
It's all very well people quoting wikipedia and coming up with their own theories, but you need experts too.

Incorrect - your thread was closed because it was, by all appearances (and even your own admission), a drunken rant - once you have sobered up and regained your senses, do what I requested in the closing post - provide us a clear and concise message explaining what it is that has your hackles up. Being all enigmatic like that doesn't help your case Beer... if you want us to help you, you need to help yourself a little as well.
