    You mean this one? https://policy.m4bl.org/platform/

Sure some of thier demands I could agree with if vaguely interpreted my way, but some of these other demands though: They demand a seperate goverment run by and only for black people (we demand full and independent black political power...), They demand somekind of collective ownership for black communities, oh and lets no forget reparations for slavery. So basically they want a segregated society that privleges them and gives them money, stuff and power, simply for being black?

I'll settle for basic income garentee for all, not just blacks, and even that is a crazy suggestion (now), what they are demanding is totally insane.

    Yes. That's how it works.
    Joke?
Identity politics is the core Republican approach, has been for decades. It's the basis of racism's influence, for example - the core of the Republican Presidential campaigns for your entire adult life. The "guy I would like to have a beer with" approach is identity politics. The "fellow Christian who shares your beliefs" is identity politics.

Yeah, some of those are weird, but they are lofty goals. MLK also believed in reparations due to all the unpaid labor they did and human rights abuses they endured.

Trump was far more resourceful than any of the Democrat pinheads thought. He was not a professional politician, yet in 1.5 years he figured out how to win the Presidency, even without the support of its own party. It also did this in spite of a well oiled Clinton machine, which had more resources, connections, more boots on the ground, as well as the support of the mainstream media propaganda complex. Trump has ingenuity.

He will get rid of the Department of Education. This will get rid of a lot of unneeded middleman, so there are more resources for the children. This will also limit liberal indoctrination to just the states that want it.

Abortion will remain legal, but it will need to be funded by Liberal charities but not the government. A Right only allows one to practice a behavior, legally. It does not mean that the tax payer has to pay for that behavior. The better template would be similar to the right to bear arms. This allows one to practice the gun behavior, but it does not mean the government has buys guns for anyone who wishes a gun. With the right to bear arms, one has provide for themselves, after jumping through hoops. Maybe this will be the model used for abortion. It called an adult right and not a dependency right.

No, he was in the right place at the right time. This is what america wants right now. Its timing and social climate. He would not have been successful before in winning the election.

He is president now. Maybe he will do good or great things.

You do know that the DOE is not in the middle, that resources for children's education do not funnel through the Federal government, right?

If the slaves had been paid a fair wage, their decedents would be the beneficiaries. Think of the interest alone. To say nothing of all the capital lost when prevented from getting bank loans for starting businesses.

So never mind the slavery - just pay reparations to identified living people who suffered direct and measurable economic harm due to racially bigoted government officials and official government policy.

The dozens of black farmers still alive who were denied Federal agricultural loan support and other subsidies their white neighbors were given, say.
Or those redlined into higher priced neighborhoods and steered into higher interest rates for FHA house loans on the basis of their race, who received no protection or relief from the government officials and agencies charged with regulating and overseeing that industry.

This is the kind of racism you get from people that claim they aren't racist. As if history didn't exist.

Or they would have spent the money when they were alive.

How far back can we go to cash-in on this? I have a feeling the Vatican owes me big!

So you think Harvard economists calling for tax cuts are just a bunch of idiotic wingnuts? Of course you do- what sane individual wouldn't be overjoyed at the prospect of someone like you raising taxes and playing Robin Hood in a time of prolonged economic difficulty? Doing things your way worked great for Venezuela, after all.

You and your regressive lefty friends could have focussed on uniting the American centre and opposing Donald Trump. Instead, you've been obsessed with things like cutting greenhouse gas pollution by deporting all your manufacturing industries to China, where no labour or environmental regulations are required and practically no tariffs are imposed, because such pollution apparently only causes 10% of the usual damage when it's created in countries that rich white people exploited 150 years ago.

You're the one who was rambling for months about how much you hate Hillary's guts, but of course everything that's wrong with the world must always be someone else's fault, or possibly Lord Balfour's. You helped alienate vast chunks of the moderate American centre, and now you get to enjoy 4+ years of right-wing backlash as a result.

You clearly don't remember someone called Ronald Reagan.
No, you didn't discuss it. You seem to be blaming lack people for getting shot.
So Obama was uniquely qualified to do the work of the House of Representatives?

That's the kind of outcome countries should expect when they consider folk music as a viable alternative to defensive nuclear deterrents.

You're getting closer: I am blaming black people for shooting each other.
    Correct.

I expect you to be cheering with glee if Russia ever does choose to invade, and I think you know fully well that civilized Lithuanians won't be getting a vote under Russian occupation.

So you were with them against communist incompetency, but then you went your separate ways when you saw that illegal Soviet transplants were no longer going to be worshipped like gods. Tell us something we didn't already know.

Fair enough. When there's racial/sexual/etc injustice going on, it's very difficult to walk the line of defending the victimized group's rights without antagonizing the majority, and Democrats have definitely lost sight of the latter on some occasions. That makes the fight for justice harder to execute properly, but it's still everyone's responsibility to make the effort.

The validity of this response hinges entirely on the truth value of the bolded portion, and I agree with iceaura that it's not really true. But I agree with the principal of your argument; I thought the same thing about all the effort liberals poured into bashing George W's stem cell policy.

"First, understand that the opposite of panic is not blithe acceptance of the situation -- it's clear-minded, positive, day-to-day action. Panic makes you do stupid shit or, even worse, curl up into a ball and do nothing. Don't tell me you have reason to panic. You never have reason to panic. You have reason to act.

So yeah, be upset for as long as you want. Get drunk. Do whatever you have to do. After that, I want you to sober up, splash water on your face, and consider some facts:

Gay marriage has overwhelming support nationwide -- 55 percent to 37 percent against.

Legal abortion is favored by 56 percent, with 41 percent opposed.

The vast majority of the population supports background checks for gun buyers -- up to 90 percent in some polls.

A majority of Americans support some kind of universal health care, 58 percent to 37 percent.

64 percent of Americans are worried about global warming. Only 36 percent are not.

And -- get this -- Americans overwhelmingly agree that immigration helps the country more than it hurts, by a 59 percent to 33 percent margin.

    Okay?

Your country didn't go anywhere. It's right here where you left it. America is nothing more than a big ol' collection of people, and those people are more diverse and progressive than they have ever been. That train won't be stopped. Donald Trump's supporters are by and large an aging and shrinking demographic...."
