I note that your name is 'Cool Skill' on Facebook. Have you considered MySpace?

I prefer MySpace, though I have a lot of good friends on Facebook. So, I have both. I've been investing a lot of time, lately, in both places. I have about 150 pics on each service. My friends in Spain, for some reason, prefer Facebook to Myspace, which is crazy.

I love Myspace so much more. I get that people are trendy and that Myspace is too flashy to be cool, but it's far more user-friendly and I like the ability to personalize the whole thing. Facebook is just fracking clunky.

    Facebook pro's:
    - Actual friends; culture of declining unknown invitations
    - News feed
    - Organisational capabilities (events, groups etc.)
    - Instant messaging
    - Clean appearance;

    Facebook cons:
    - Enforced low resolution user photos

    MySpace pros:
    - Larger user base than FB (not for long, maybe)
    - Relatively anonymous - good for Internet weirdos

    MySpace cons:
    - Ability to play music automatically
    - Ability to have yellow text on a red background
    - Image spam on wall messages (perhaps they've addresses this)
    - Populated by moody 15 year old girls with high contrast profile images with cheesy filter effects who think you will be deeply moved when you hear their favourite song, no doubt some dreary indie number meant to be 'beautiful and sad'

edit: does this make me sound bitter and hateful?

I had a myspace, but it got ate up by trolls. I don't like it anyway. People have too much garbage on their pages.

I prefer the CIA actually have to go to my government or, *sigh*, my bank, to get all my digits. Facebook and myspace just makes it too easy.

You should be very careful when inviting friends on myspace/facebook.

I once got confused and ended up asking someone to come on myface.

    Hahaha. Too funny.

I hate all of those social networking websites, I know a lot of people that have become addicted to them. One guy I know takes socialising online more seriously than real life, he'll be up all night waiting for one 'friend' in America, another in Japan etc. All a load of bollocks. They look cheap and tacky and can turn normal people into sad nosey stalkers.

How can you get addicted to facebook? All you do is look up people now and then keep up with old chums and just basically keep in touch in an easier way

Maybe some people look up everyone, even those they never really knew, add them on and go on like they are best friends. I know some people use it to stalk girls they never had the balls to ask out it can be used as a tool to help keep tabs on what people are doing, some people simply get carried away (begin to take it more seriously than real life socialising) . Speaking of stalking, it’s a good way to hunt people down, a guy tried to cheat me out of some money, my friend was able to locate him through these websites.

I have a Facebook page and I have been a part since it was started. It once used to be only for college students but now it's a just a fancier version of Myspace.

Oh, this post makes 8,000 worthless posts.

I joined Facebook a few months ago because much of my distant family is on it.

Not a chance in hell I am posting my name here, and I will not add you.
