Sometimes when I post really long messages in a lengthy forum it takes a long time to load. I was thinking maybe we could set a message limit of 40 or soemthing then the bot would automatically start up a "part 2" of the origional topic or whatever. I don't know if this forum would be capable of such a thing, but it was just an idea I was thinking. Could such a thing be done? Also when I first registered, I said keep topics open until they are 75 days old. I am starting to regret this now that it's taking so long to load, is there a way to change the options I set? MaTTo
The software is able to split up pages. I've currently set the max # per page to 40, though perhaps I should lower that. See the following for an example of this page-splitting: http://www.exosci.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000020.html Right below the "Post New Topic" and "Post Reply" buttons at the top is a link called <A HREF="http://www.exosci.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ubbmisc.cgi?action=setprefs">preferences</A>. If you click it, you can change the historical date to whatever value you please. I hope this helps. Dave [This message has been edited by DaveW (edited June 29, 1999).]
