That would prove my point, wouldn't it? If I punched you in the face for being wrong, that would not be a good thing, would it?

    nope.
    nope.
Sure. Get some seeds and just add water.
    We did that.
You mean like deep-brain implants to cure diseases? Did that, too.

How sure are you that that sort of violence is primarily caused by reptilian brains?

Was more talking about, you push a button and it 3d prints an edible meal.

If so why is there global warming. The ozone repair must operate at a miniscule rate.

Nope I was more talking about ways to double intelligence, changing DNA of the whole body not just one organ, getting rid of physical ugliness or old age, etc.

What do you think it's caused by? Empathy? Logic?

I decline to tap dance in a minefield. Not a constructive use of my time. Don't let me stop you, however, Mr. Bojangles.

Exploring the brain is similar to a minefield, but the analogy you made doesn't apply.

Because the exploring the brain has scientific rewards, exploring a minefield has no scientific rewards.

    Which would be educational.

Sure it does. Don't you think knowing where the mines are is rewarding?

Remember that M*A*S*H episode where the father had his daughters checking for mines in front of the ox? The ox was more valuable than the daughters.

So the minefield is also an economic calculator.

Yes, especially if you include the one in "Kelly's Heroes". (GIs go AWOL to steal Nazi gold. Part of the trip is through a minefield.)

You can bet they're not going to send Don Rickles or Telly Savalas first.

Like on Star Trek, who should we send down to the surface of the planet? We'll send the Captain because he gets the most screen time, we'll send the Science Officer in case there's sciency stuff to do, and we'll send the Doctor in case somebody gets hurt. Oh, and we'll send the new guy.

You just know the new guy ain' t comin' back.

Did you notice that in the Kelvin Timeline "Into Darkness" Kirk tells the ensigns to take off their red jumpers? Didn't help, they didn't come back.

The depletion of ozone and global warming are 2 different things.

There are plenty of places where you push a button and a server delivers you an edible meal.
Do you seriously not know the difference between ozone layer damage and climate change?
We can do this now (google CISPR/CAS9.) We're not doing it primarily for ethical reasons. We've done it in animals.
Plastic surgery is a $16 billion a year business.

Fun fact: Did you know this myth has been busted?

Turns out, being a red shirt is actually one of the safest jobs - even on away missions.

This guy added it up, and the numbers don't lie.

When did facts matter on Star Trek?

    Well, it isn't a ST fact; its a real-world not-fact - a myth - about the show.
